I am home and I'm listening to Donald's show. It's 9:45. I may have to pick up tomorrow since I need to get to bed. I just heard Franklin Shepherd Inc.

My little Norfolk Terrier, Cody, is currently at the vet's, fighting for his life.

He was born with an enlarged heart, and now it's on the verge of failure.

He's getting meds & O2.  The doctor is giving him a little better than a 50/50 chance.  His condition is "guarded".

The bad thing about having pets is that we outive them.

My prayers for Cody and my good vibes for you and your wife.

I saw WOMAN OF THE YEAR with Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Cooper.  I thought it was wonderful.  And I was very impressed with how charming and wonderful Ms. Bacall was to my mother and my aunt both before the show and after it was over.

This is my first evening off of rehearsal this week.  It is also the start of my last free weekend before we start the nightly run-throughs.  Starting Monday, the honeymoon is over and I have no more nights off until after we open.

I had a full night of filmed entertainment. I began by watching CATHERINE THE GREAT. The DVD case calls it THE RISE OF CATHERINE THE GREAT, but that's not the title on the actual film.

Anyway, I had only seen little bits of this; it was nice to see a different interpretation of the Catherine the Great story, but Von Sternberg's THE SCARLET EMPRESS beats this by a mile. (They both flopped at the box-office). Nice to see Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. actually doing interesting things with a role. Flora Robson made a very interesting Empress Elisabeth. I'm not sure I've ever seen her play sexy before.

Next, I rewatched some of this week's IDOL performances one more time before deleting it from the DVR.

Up next was tonight's BONES, an above average mystery lifted to a higher plane because of the Japanese agent and his scientist partner who were there assisting. Really enjoyed tonight's episode.

GREY'S ANATOMY was next, and it was a very good episode as well. The father-daughter storyline was tremendously moving, and I loved the final scene between Alex and George, too.

I concluded my evening with tonight's SUPERNATURAL, an eerie episode called "Jump the Shark" which didn't for the show, a major relief. Great surprise revelation 2/3 of the way through, too. Very good show which has been on a roll of its own lately.

While in Westwood we took in Falafel King. My fave falafel is still Aladdin's, which Jose, I'm sure, knows well. I do still love Aladdin's.

I've never been to Aladdin's, maybe one of these days.

I spent the day at UCLA Medical Center. DF&H#2 has a nasty rash that is getting really horrible, so I drove him over there to see the doctor. I must be the Houseguest from Hell. While in Florida, DF&H#1, who's NEVER sick, got sick and ended up in the ER. Now DF&H#2 is ailing. Maybe JRand has an explanation; I don't! :(  ???

;D  We went out tonight with out of town friends tonight.  For the first time in ages I was able to have my hair looking nice & wear my bangs down instead of pulled off of my face.  We had a very nice time.

Did you say nasty rash?  Has he been around DR Jane's poison oak?

Good Evening!

Just three more performances of The Producers to go. -Although, I wouldn't mind being able to run from tonight's half-hour through the end of "We Can Do It".  There just seemed to be a lot of gremlins in the works when we started off tonight.  First, the sound board crashed at 7:15...  ::)

In any case, things settled after "We Can Do It", but since we started off the evening with some technical issues, I really wasn't able to relax until after intermission.  Then after the show, I thought I was heading out with some friends who had come to tonight's show, but...

I was actually a bit tired after tonight's show, so it worked out better that I did not go out. I did stop by the office on the way back to the apartment to gather the stuff that I had at my desk.  I thought I would go ahead and pack it all up tonight, and mail it back tomorrow morning.  However, I think I'm just going to pack and mail it all in the morning.  Just not feelin' it.

A classmate, high school for Keith & 6th grade on for me, is in Ashland with 4 friends.  They came on the bus with an adult class trip which included 2 nights of plays.  We picked up our classmate at their hotel & gave her a driving tour of Ashland & then walked her through the park.  Later we met the rest of her group for dinner.  We had a very nice time.

The restaurant we ate at has a great eggplant sandwich Keith & planned on having.  Unfortunately they were out of it.  I had the mac & cheese instead.  It was very tasty.  After dinner we walked them to the theater before coming home.

I am definitely feeling better.  Hmmm, might it be the glass of wine ;)  I just checked, my finger reach around my wrist again-YES! :)  This is encouraging though I still have some swelling.

Well... I was thinking of catching a matinee of "The Soloist" tomorrow afternoon, but after reading the review in the LA Times*, well...  -And I've read some of the other reviews, and they all seem to have the same issues with the movie.

*And since "The Soloist" deals with Steve Lopez, a reporter for the LA Times... And since Kenneth Turan knows Steve Lopez, well... It's an interestingly candid review.
