To answer BK's earlier query, I -- for one -- have not received "Tom Jones" yet.

I guess Der Brucer's analysis was spot on. To me it is a complete crock. I really
am shocked that kris could beat adam. It makes me wonder what the voters were
thinking. Kris is nice. And sings well. But adam is a star. And kris winning seems
like a joke to me. It never really occured to me that christians would only vote
for kris. Or that people would boycott adam. I can't imagine voting for someone
only because they were christian.  Or not voting for someone only because they
were gay. The judges basically said that adam was the winner. He is on the covers
of magazines. HE is charismatic and charming. Kris is just sweet and boring. I know
this will not necessarily impact adam's career. But it just makes the whole show
seem like a joke to me. Although the finale was quite excellent, minus the results.

That will be so weird having MEDIUM, UGLY BETTY and SMALLVILLE on fridays. And THE MENTALIST on THURSDAYS.

Not too fond of all the moving around. I wonder if CBS ever considered putting MEDIUM after THE MENTALIST. I think these 2 would work well together. I know GHOST WHISPERER and MEDIUM have similar topics. But i don't know if i could watch them both in a row. They are both very heavy shows.

GLEE looked very interesting, I am hoping it will be rerun sometime around the schedule - since I don't have one of those newfangled recordering dee-vices.

Such lovely animal fotos, DR derBRUCER.....

And manimal photos were nice as well.  Ted looks sort of like a better looking Jerry Seinfeld.

American Idol?  Is that tired old show still on?

Yep, and still the top rated show on network TV.

Yes, and at one time, the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES was the top rated show on network TV.  Does that mean it was great television, too?

Whoever said it was great? I simply said it was on and popular. Which it is.

I enjoyed Fargo when I saw it, but I never revisit it BECAUSE of the extreme violence, which I found completely unnecessary and overdone.

But "Fargo" is based on a true story, so the Coen brothers HAD to put all that violence in there! It all really really truly happened just that way. I'm sure it did! I mean why would they make all that stuff up?? So naturally, they had to include all the violence or they would have lost all their screenplay-writing integrity, ya know?

Actually, the featurettes and the commentary reveal that it was NOT a true story. The Coens lied at the beginning of the film just to keep the spirit of the film truly outrageous.

Dear MattH, I watched every episode of Moonlight.  Will watch the new show too, he's a hunk.

I did as well (and also the episodes again in the DVD box set), and will also check out the new show.

I had an interesting night of TV. I began by trying to watch GET SMART (the movie). 20 minutes in and I hadn't laughed once, so I stopped and deleted it.

Then I put in the gay film EAST SIDE STORY. It's been sitting on my to-watch shelf for a couple of years, so I watched that tonight. It was merely OK. Not the best acting I've seen.

American Idol was a real treat tonight, the results notwithstanding. I can't remember when I've seen such a diverse collection of Pop stars sharing the same stage on TV. The show certainly deserves Emmy consideration - it was better produced than any of the recent Emmy or Tony shows. They must of tied up every rehearsal stage in the LA area last week preparing all those joint Pop Star - Idol candidate numbers. The producers sure went out of their way to showcase their assembled talent.

A set designer, actor and stage manager are in the prop room. The actor accidentally rubs a prop lantern as he passes by it.

A Genie appears and says, "I shall grant you three wishes. One for each of you.

The set designer says, I'd like to go to Ancient Greece to study how theatres were built.
Poof! The Genie sends him off.

The actor says I'd like to go to Elizabethan London and meet Shakespeare.
Poof! The Genie sends him off.

The stage manager looks at his watch and says, "I'm going to need them both back in 5 minutes..."

I hope it will arrive tomorrow. I am looking forward to hearing it

Agreed!

I just got back from a small "AI Finale" watching party, and everyone agreed that it had to be one of the better - if not the best - produced musical "variety show", concert, special programs to be broadcast in a long time.

*And, yes, many phone calls were made, and many favors were called in in order to get ALL of those musical acts on stage. A friend of mine was brought on just for the last week alone to assist with all the legal and music clearances for tonight's extravaganza.  He couldn't tell me any of the details, but he did say to expect some surprises, and I was most definitely surprised. :)

DR JRand - If you have iTunes - which is a free download - you can download the trailer and last night's preview/pilot for FREE too from iTunes right now.  I believe it's also available on Fox's own website now too.

I remember a group in West Hollywood that would present gay versions of classic musicals, and they would re-title said classics according to their "needs": West Hollywood Gypsy, West Hollywood Story, West Hollywood Yankees, etc., etc., etc.  Does anyone know if any such group is still in existence?

*And I only remember them from their appearances in the Los Angeles Pride Parades - I never saw any of their actual productions.  My first two visits out to L.A. happened to coincide with Pride Weekend in L.A.

Time for me to head downtown to see A Little Night Music.  It should be good...hopefully. ;)

Until later!

I'm wondering if the reports of Kirstin Scott Thomas portraying Desirée somewhere in France next year will come true.

About the IDOL results, I was not at all surprised by the results and yet I still found myself a little heartbroken. Ah, well, tomorrow is another day (a Scarlett O'Hara reference).

I'm trying to decide if I want to do LICENCE TO KILL tomorrow or THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY. Both are on Blu-ray and whatever I don't do tomorrow will be done Friday. LICENCE is a little shorter but has more bonus features.

Decisions, decisions...
