I have heard that this Guys and Dolls is a complete travesty from start to finish, and directors like Des McAnuff should not be allowed to touch classic musicals, because people like him feel it's their duty to improve them with their "concepts."  Note to Des:  Guys and Dolls didn't need your help.  It's a perfect musical and was basically indestructible until you came along and made the incredibly ignorant addition of Damon Runyon to make this show Brechtian.  You are a fool, sir - high schools can't screw up Guys and Dolls and yet you can.  Bravo.  Have you heard the expression "trust the material?"  If you don't, don't do the show.  I haz spoken, Des.

Thanks, Cillaliz. One more thing to resent about my current situation: it has prevented me from hanging out at HHW. But at least as of right now, BK and HHW have a thank you in the credits.

Hunk a licious!

Actually, that category for "Best Featured Actor in a Musical" could have been called "The Best Hunk In A Musical". -Especially if Aaron Tveit had been nommed.

No, we won't be breaking any records tonight, thanks to all the recent defections and errant and truant, but it's still the most fun place to be on all the Internet.
