Good morning, all! Last night I had a fabulous dinner at Chez Josephine which is also an homage to Miss Josephine Baker, with plumes and portraits about the restaurant. The meal was quite wonderful and it was great to see my friend Richard and his wife after too long a period of time.
I have a day to myself at the apartment and I'm going to work on Moross scores. tonight, I'm seeing KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY at Musicals in Mufti. The show is so politically relevant that I don't know why productions aren't popping up everywhere. Originally Maxwell Anderson's anger over FDR's "New Deal," I always saw it as a parable on fascism, but I suppose a lot of conservatives today might see it as a jab at Obama's policies. I look on it as a great score with a lot of digs at corruption and stupidity in all levels of government, from the town counsel to the top.
I may do a bit of work on Mr Victor Herbert as well.
