The Inside Story clip goes on far too long, in my humble opinion.

I'm in the minority, I know, but I find comedy with speech impediments excruciating. I don't find them remotely funny.

Good morning!

You know the drill: hot, humid, miserable, in the 90s. Ugh!

When will fall get here?

I'm pretty sure that the episode that aired last night of ROYAL PAINS was episode 3. It's a shame that i can't watch the full episodes on USA network's website. I really want to see the pilot episode. There are a lot of posts on youtube with links to watch the full episodes. But i can't seem to click on them to see the full link (not that i even know if they would work)!

Count me as one of the GOONIE razzers. I couldn't stand the kids in the film when I first saw it, and I bought a used DVD for about $3 several years ago to rewatch it to see if my opinion had changed. It hadn't: I couldn't stand most of it.

On the other hand, I really loved THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR. It did not get universally good reviews when it came out, but I always loved it, and found the suspense delicious.

I have not traded up for the Blu-ray of CONDOR yet. Looking for an attractive price. Right now it's on my CHristmas list, but if I see it reduced before then, I'll buy it for myself.

I may be taking the day off from work today. The work website is allegedly switching over today, and we were advised not to upload new reviews until Tuesday, so I may just take a break. However, if I happen to get a big mox of review discs in the mail today that freak me out because of getting behind schedule, I may end up doing the next Criterion disc: Godard's MADE IN U.S.A. which I've never seen before.

DR Laura, did you ever see GUV the musical back when Evan Mecham was governor?  It was hysterical.  It included the legislators who were taking bribes too. The guy who played Mecham looked exactly like him but he could sing and play the guitar

Time Capsule is fine and has gone green.  The first thing I'd done when it was blinking amber was go into system preferences and network, where it showed that it was green and working despite the blinking yellow light on the unit itself.  This morning I called Apple and he took me one step further, to the Airport Utility screen, where the unit was amber.  The reason?  Firmware update.  Firmware updates for the unit don't show up when the rest of the updates do, so unless you go into the Airport Utility you'd never know.  So, we did the update, and all is well and well is all.

I'm up.  Workers are fairly quiet now, but were just loud enough at seven to wake anyone in a half-mile radius.

bk - If your Time Capsule/Airport is flashing Yellow, you just need to open up the Airport/Time Capsule Utility, and it will tell you what the problem is.

Applications -> Utilities -> Airport Utility

Have you downloaded that latest updates? Sometimes that will cause a blinking yellow.

And if you search the Help Forum on Apple.com, you'll also find that it could be due to some sort of network interference, which I know you've dealt with in the past.

My new neigbor will have workers there all week.  I don't think it will be too noisy, though. My guess is he's gutting the kitchen over there and probably ripping out carpeting.  He's using the same plumber who messed up my house, but I'm not saying anything because they may be friends.

He definitely lives alone now that his daughter has graduated from college and moved to Boulder, CO.  He told a very touching story about the new car he bought for her.  So, my little corner of the world now has a single guy in his 30s, a single guy in his 40s and me :D

One random memory from yesterday's NYC Pride Parade...

There was a contingent from the Carpenter's Union marching in the Parade. They were all women.

As for "The Goonies" - It's definitely not a movie for everyone, but I've always found an easy, almost-mindless watch.  -And it's one of those movies that works better in groups than by yourself.  Or something like that.
