Well, you've read the notes, the notes had 1,033 calories, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - the cows are quite caloric, I must say.

Good morning everyone.

Time for me to get back in the swing of things, and my sorted life as it may be.

Happy Sunday.

Today the bathroom will get treated to a new rug.  And I'm treating myself to some tickets for Culture Clash at the Getty this September and October.  And more unpacking and sorting.

And I need to figure out how to order a movie from Germany, does anyone have a website they order from that you trust ?.

Hi night owl George.

Back atcha, Sam. :) Sorry I missed you.  I was finishing up an episode of "America's Got Talent," so that I could delete it from my DVR.

www.amazon.de.  It's just the same as amazon.com, but in German.

I don't usually contribute to the political folderol posted here but I found this line from Maureen Dowd's New York Times column this morning very funny.

"Why not? Palin/Sanford in 2012, with the slogan: “Save time — we’re already in Crazy Town.”

Thanks for the info DRs Jose and JAne. One of the blisters popped on its own overnight.

I know you're not supposed to ice a burn. The pack i have is not really what i'd consider ice. It's one of those slushy packs you keep in the freezer. But i had a towel over it. So it would more likely just be keeping it cool, not freezing it.

She says it does not hurt and keeps asking, "what's my boo boo called again". I gave her another shower this morning and washed it off. And put more ointment and another big bandage. This one bigger.

I'm not sure what to do about the other blister. Hope it pops itself. Or take her to the doctor.

Jose, who knows - your kindness that day may have helped the young man towards pursuing his path, either directly or subliminally.

Lovely story from DR JOSE.  And I enjoyed Monkey at the Brooklyn Museum.  Particularly the Monkey in the Painting Series.

A lot of the local fireworks were rained out.....but about 10 p.m., Pioneer Park did do its annual display, which is visible from my house.  Very nice.

Good morning!

It was a bit overcast this morning, and rain is supposed to happen this afternoon, so we'll see. My yard is fairly brown right now, so I guess we could use the rain, but I sure do love not having to mow the grass.

And, of course, rain or not, it's going to be near-90 again today. So, if we have rain, it will simply turn the outside into a sauna.

My work project today is Criterion's REPULSION. I have seen it before, but it was on TV years ago, and I suspect it was edited for broadcast, so this may be my first time with the entire movie. Should be a "fun" afternoon.

Note that many of the cable channels that present original programming on SUnday (HBO, USA) are not airing new programs tonight. I imagine this is due to the holiday weekend.

Does anyone know why Geraldine McEuen was replaced as Miss Marple in these new Miss Marple remakes? I'm not complaining; I didn't care for her take on Miss Marple, but I was curious as to why.

Good morning, all!

No, DR JRand58, GIUDITTA is also from the Morbisch Festival, but I was watching IM WEISSEN ROSSL, which means "White Horse Inn."  GIUDITTA (Judith) is a late Franz Lehar operetta about a whore in Morocco or some part of the French Foreign Legion World. I find it a bit pretentious, more Richard Strauss than Lehar, but a lot of people like it. Her big aria "Meine Lippen sie kussen so heiss" (My lips kiss so hot) gets a lot of exposure; Beverly Sills interpolated into the last act of her Merry Widow performances, which seemed a bit odd for the character; I think the translation was "On my lips every kiss is like wine." Now that I've kicked GIUDITTA around the block, there are other Morbisch performances I like as well: The Merry Widow, The Beggarstudent, The Gypsy Baron.

I slept late this morning, and I've got a lot of work on Liz Callaway's material. Alex is late with one chart, which frustrates me much as I love him, since it's less time to do the chart and get it to the copyists without going into overtime. He's promised it to me tomorrow. It will be wonderful, since he's so good, but it means a day I cannot work on it today.

Beyond that, I have dinner at 5:30 with my friend Darrel Karl at an Indian place on 46th and Sixth at 5:30. It will be a nice break from the chart.
