I'm quite annoyed that we're not doing book stuff today - and he can't start till noon tomorrow, which means we will virtually get almost nothing done in the two-and-a-half hours I'm allotted.  Which means this whole thing will slide into next weekend.

I don't have anything to say today, except that I have the cutest kittens in town.

As DR DAW would say; "Is that a euphemism?"  :D

Last night's "Romeo & Juliet" was a very good show.  It lasted exactly three hours. :D A couple of weeks ago, we had a booth at the Olympia Pride Event and handed out about 500 flyers to our show, but we didn't get 500 tickets sold. ::) But last night, we had about six or seven older gay couples who all came to see the show together (out of about 30-35 people total).  They loved it!  Afterward, we had a party at one girl's house, but several of us went to Applebee's for a late dinner, first.  That was a good thing to do.  We were all very hungry and party food (what little there was) would not have been adequate.  Anyway, we have a performance tonight (and another party), then tomorrow's matinee, then we strike the set and maybe another party(!), and then it's all over!

And finally...back to reality. :)

So now, I need to take a shower, get dressed, go to work for a few hours then go to the theater.

Have a good day, all!

Decided I needed a break from jogging, which I've done five days in a row - and it's REALLY hot out.

It is VERY warm and muggy today after two days of relatively moderatre temperatures. It's just AWFUL outside today.

I finished A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED while I ate lunch. It's one of my favorite Miss Marple stories, and the clues to the solution are SO obvious once you know the trick Christie uses. You just want to kick yourself for not catching the clues when they're presented.

Next I watched another VERCONICA MARS episode. This was the one where Veronica decides she's going to investigate Lily's murder in earnest. The mini-mystery for the episode was rather lame: a "friend" of Veronica's who's running for Student COuncil President has the election seemingly stolen from her, and Veronica investigates.

I decided that I'd save THE FASHION SHOW to watch while I ate lunch tomorrow, so I went to the HD Showcase on Demand channel, and picked this week's NCIS rerun which I didn't record this Tuesday. This is the one where Ducky gets stabbed in the hand. I only got about 15 minutes of it watched, but I'll finish it when I go back down before I start on THE SAND PEBBLES.

DR Matt H said (last night):
Quote
I watched QVO VADIS on Blu-ray the day I got it, and I can't for the life of me remember my impressions of the transfer. I'd have to go put it back in the player and rewatch.

Well, I watched the first two hours last night and can honestly say that the transfer is near to impeccable - I noticed a few register errors along the way - but is is mostly an immaculate presentation.

Now that you mention it, I think I felt the same way. I do remember some occasional registration problems but also thinking it looked quite lush and beautiful. I may take it out and sample parts of it again tonight after I finish with THE SAND PEBBLES.

My friend Bruce is coming uptown to gave dinner with me. I will give him his birthday gift, several tasteful DVDs, and take him to the Silk Road Palace for a delish Chinese dinner. There will be lots of gossip.

What's everyone reading?

I'm still on the Oxford Book of Victorian Ghost Stories, but I just bought Edith Wharton's ghost stories for the next read.

I've been rereading THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF AGATHA CHRISTIE over this past week.

And now I'm going to tinker with a few computer items, and then I'll head down to watch THE SAND PEBBLES for the first time in probably 30 years.

We need to expand the membership; people come and go like Grand Hotel but a nice shot of new blood would be great. Maybe the Kritzerland site should invite people to check out the site?

By the way, BK, you got a lovely compliment on castrecl today from Tim Willis.
