Full Monty at Paper Mill was quite excellent, plus there was a talkback in which Stritch joined the cast in answering questions.

I am trying to come up with a children's story for tomorrow. It has been a very busy week.

What about the story of a young girl who walks and texts at the same time and falls ....

Oh, never mind! ;)

I am now back from an ever so delightful Chinese dinner with Bruce Pomahac at Hunan Park on 95th and Columbus, which was his choice. I think the Silk Road Palace is equally as good, but Hunan Park did have some interesting choices on their menu that the Silk Road Palace does not.

I think I shall read my mail, watch COPS, and then watch something on DVD. I'm not sure yet what that will be.

Ooh, Hunan Park. Haven't been there in years.  -And I keep meaning to make a return visit to the classic - and somewhat over-priced - Shun Lee.  Just for ole times sake.

What was the best question and the best answer at the talk back?  Did YOU ask a question?

Kritzerland has two followers.

For your next Tweet, you should include the direct link to the recording that you're "advertising".  Maybe something like this:

Only 150... 149... 148... copies of "Topkapi" left! http://kritzerland.com/topkapi.htm

Or...

Yes, cast album collectors, there is an "Evening Primrose" http://kritzerland.com/eveprim.htm

Or...

Trailer Parks, Video Games, Aliens and Showtunes, Oh My! "The Last Starfighter" http://kritzerland.com/starfighter.htm

It is 5:31, I must leave in 45 minutes, and I have not even showered yet today.  (TMI?).  I did however get caught up on literally weeks of paperwork (hence my lack of personal hygiene)--I had stacks of paper going back to late May/early June, expense-income statements to finish, and the like, and those are ALL DONE.  Plus I reviewed the lamentable ECHELON CONSPIRACY and also got through one HELEN WEST mystery and started DIARY OF A NOBODY.

Now I will shower.  :)

Maybe you shouldn't shower until the company reprints the program with a full-page devoted to your picture and bio?

;)

*Alas, I've worked with a conductor or two - and a couple of actors - who tended not to shower until after the show.  Of course, sometimes they showed up at the theatre after a workout at the gym. :-\

the manager called about 8:00 and asked if I was still here. He said they had a lot of people coming in so he couldn't leave early.  He took one look and said "stop in tomorrow and pick out a new mattress, as long as it's the same price range, it's free".   cool.  He also told me that the pillow top beds sag in the middle more than a little firmer mattress.

I am very happy about this.  It hadn't occurred to me to check and see if it was under warranty.  I'm glad I got it at the store I use a lot.  It's the same store Jen from Design Star used when she remodeled her sister's living room in Sioux city

Did the manager offer to help you check out your old and potential new mattress with you? ;)

The brain is clearer - just some decisions to be made, depending on how I'm feeling later.

Jrand - I did not ask a question, but:

Best question:  Had the actors ever made a suggestion where the director said "no" (Of course, the director of this FULL MONTY happens to be Paper Mill's artistic director, so would they air it in public, but still  a good question-)

Best answer (and I summarize):  When asked what her favorite thing to do other than acting was, Stritch said something like I don't want to answer that, but thank you for asking the question!  (Maybe ya hadda be there. but it was very funny.)

Most surprising comment by Stritch, at least at first hearing, and I paraphrase - that no one should ever have to do eight performances a week, and she added that that having eight performances is only about money.

DR FJL - That's good to hear.  I really wanted to make it out there to see this production, but... yadda-yadda-yadda... Especially since I love me some Michael Rupert and Wayne Wilcox... And Stritchy, of course.

I'd forgotten that Jeanette (Stritch's character) didn't appear until almost an hour into the show (Much like Tony Curtis' Osgood in the Some Like it Hot/Sugar musical tour, where he was abpve the title).

And I found out today that Walmart sells pork tongue.

I, for one, will sleep better tonight now that that's been determined.

Very funny response from Ms Stritch....which reminds me of her comment after Michael Bennett got mad at everybody, jumped onstage, and demonstrated exactly how he wanted the COMPANY to do "Side by Side."

That's great, Michael....she said.....but you only had to do it once....we have to do it eight times a week.
