And happy memories of our beloved ozderek, whose birthday it would have been today.  He was a wonderful chap.  It's too bad his pal from down under had to walk away from this here site, but such is life.

I watched the first season of LOST, then got bored with it 4-5 episodes into Season 2 and stopped watching.

That's the problem with these series that have one overall continuing premise.  They are impossible to sustain.  With 22 episodes per season, you have to keep adding story tangents that take you away from the main plot.  Eventually, everything gets so complicated that you lose track of what's going on in the basic story.

Some of these series that were cancelled the first year, but allowed to complete their basic storyline (e.g. KIDNAPPED, THE BLACK DONNELLEYS) are among my favorites...if for no other reason that they had a beginning, a middle and an end.

Good morning!

It was very cool this morning (62), and I enjoyed sitting on the side porch and enjoying the coolness for a little bit. We never did get any rain, and it is very dry here. One good thing: no rain means my grass is not growing and I don't have to mow it.

DR Michael Shayne is correct abouot Jack Bender. You might as well bail right now bk because he directs many of the season one and two episodes.

As for DR Druxy's comments, LOST is one show that has NEVER bored me. Confused at times and perplexed and astonished and delighted and scared and amazed but never bored. I will certainly agree that it gets more and more complex (that's the main reason its total audience has not sustained over its five seasons), but that has been the great thing about the squeegee recaps on ABC and the DVD/Blu-ray box sets. Repeated viewing of these episodes has cleared away many of the conundrums generated by the first two or three seasons. What mysteries remain should be cleared up in the final season which begins early in 2010.

But the show for me remains a brilliantly entertaining and utterly unique dramatic series.

Today is my personal Hell Day--off to play my church gig, then a matinee and evening performance (thankfully the only Sunday we have two during this incredibly long run).  Probably will ketchup tomorrow.

I guess I'll head downstairs now to get laundry ready for washing and then I'll toddle into the kitchen to figure out what's for lunch.
