Yep, I know of two people who had the same exact kind of theft during the past six months.

Sorry to hear about that, BK. But from now on, keep everything out of site in your car. I try to hid everything--even the cassette adapter that I use to plug my iPod into.

One of the few other spontaneous things I did was to agree to go to Las Vegas with our own DR Laura about two years ago. Luckily what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

I would never have imagined that a $150 item would be hot with thieves - especially to take the chance that a car alarm will go off (mine apparently didn't - why, I'll have to find out) - how can it be worth it? And they could have gotten an iPod, a radio, checks - the police think it was kids - big influx of this stuff in NoHo and here, apparently, so maybe they'll start patrolling.

The only amusing thing is that none of the construction crews vehicles are parked anywhere near my house - first time for that. Usually they take every parking space. I little broken window and glass everywhere changes that, I guess.
