On the last "Mary Tyler Moore" show, everyone was fired except Ted Baxter.

There...DEAL WITH IT!

This prompted me to try to remember as many finale episodes as I could - especially for sitcoms. According to my memory, not too many shows have planned finales - they just get cancelled without warning. I only remember that the Korean war ends in the finale for "Mash" (sorry for the spoiler!), I think Sam Malone closed the bar at the end of "Cheers" (is that right?), and Alex P. Keaton goes off to college at the end of "Family Ties." And I know that "Will and Grace" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" had special finale episodes as well. There must be others, but I can't think of any...anyone else remember any other finale episodes?

If we're going to have another storm today, it'll happen later tonight. RIght now, it looks like a typical summer day in the South with unbearable sunny skies and some puffy clouds dotting the gorgeous blue sky.

Bob Newhart vows not to eat Japanese food ever again before going to bed.

This was a planned finale?? Look, if you're just listing last episodes of shows that were cancelled abruptly without the writers getting the chance to write a special finale episode, those don't count!

When I got in from lunch, I sat down with today's work project: MISS MARCH.

I know every film can't be THE NUN'S STORY, SOME LIKE IT HOT, or SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (to mention a favorite drama, comedy, and musical of mine), but MISS MARCH was so lame, so stupid and intelligence draining that it might be thought to be hazardous to one's sanity. How does this stuff get greenlit?

Yep, that was planned.  Amazingly enough, it was kept secret until the episode aired.

I just remembered two more. Everyone on "Seinfeld" goes to jail and Frasier moves to Chicago for a dame he just met.

I guess this movie wouldn't be popular at HHW. Groaning is not allowed at HHW, and I groaned for almost the entire 93 minutes of the moment. There was one well staged sequence: one of the leads falls down a stairwell and is dazed. Then a fishing tackle box falls on his head which knocks him out, and then the bookcase behind him tips over on top of him. The pratfall was beautifully performed by some valiant stunt person, and the timing of the two falling gags was perfect. I appreciated the construction of the scene.

Otherwise, though, everything was strained, feeble, gross, and a total turn-off. I'm not sure how I'm going to write much about something so pathetically bankrupt of wit, class, or talent.

He was offered a job in San Francisco and was going to take it, but he changes his mind at the very end...because he's in love...awwwww. Or do I have the cities backwards?

I watched the bonus features which were also pretty well nothing. Some of their pals come in to audition for roles in the film, and we get to see four sets of auditions (all people unsuited for the parts they want).

There was also a faux entertainment news piece about the filthy music video that's in the movie.

I am forever grateful to the powers that be that there was no audio commentary with this so I didn't have to sit through it again.
