Now I'm heading downstairs to maybe get an early start on lunch since the repairman might surprise me and come earlier than they said. (Of course, in all honesty, I'm not expecting him before 5.)

Regarding Nikki and Paolo - I remember well the animosity towards this episode when it first aired.  I also remember thinking "WTF?" about the episode itself.  I did like having Artz back, for those brief informative moments, but unlike the other far-fetched ideas put forth on LOST, I didn't find any real connections to reality with Nikki and Paolo. I wasn't bored by the episode, but left with the feeling of "Meh."

I had an opposite reaction.  I thought the episode was refreshing and fun.   Out of the plane's 40-plus survivors, the story lines are nearly all about Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Charlie, Michael & Walt, Sun & Jin, Sayid, John Locke, Boone & Shannon, Bernard & Rose, and Claire.   We "see" the other survivors, but seldom hear/see them interacting in a story line.

It was a nice change of pace for the show, IMO.  Sure...I was put off at first that the pace of the story arc had been brought to a standstill...but I found myself really getting immersed into the fact that all the other survivors have their points of view, as well, and I loved it that the writers/producers decided to offer a show from that perspective.

I don't suppose any point in the various arcs would have been convenient...but they seized a moment and it's part of the lore.

Oh, thanks a lot, TD, for your Ask BK question--I had almost completed negotiations for ROPE:  THE MUSICAL.  ;)

Re:  Nikki and Paulo--it's either in the commentary for that episode or one of the docs for that season, but Lindelof and Cruse (Cuse?  can't remember right now) chat about plans for actually having N&P have a multi-episode arc that was going to play into a bunch of other plotlines.

It took me a few seconds - well, minutes actually - to figure out what "IV" meant.  At first I kept wondering why you be doing a medical procedure via Skype. ::)

DR MBarnum - Will you be watching Bollywood Hero on IFC this week?

*They had a Bollywood "flash mob" earlier this week in Times Square as part of the promotion for the mini-series.

ASK BK -

Last night I watched the latest dvd transfer of TO CATCH A THIEF, so my first ASK BK question is:

Which of these romantic pairings with Cary Grant do you like the most?
Grace Kelly (TO CATCH A THIEF)
Audrey Hepburn (CHARADE)
Ingrid Bergman (NOTORIOUS)

To Catch A Thief for sure.

As for Nikki and Paolo: I liked that episode too.  As DR Ron Pulliam mentioned, it was cool seeing how the writers worked them into the plot - and "past" plots.  I was a little disappointed that the episode was basically a stand alone one - no cliffhanger - but there was also something nice about not having to keep track, not having to remember what happened from that week to the next.  Of course, then I had to remember what happened before that episode, so... ;)

ASK BK -

What Hitchcock film's screenplay do you think would make an interesting piece of musical theater?
What Hitchcock film would you personally want to write as a musical?

Maybe 39 Steps.  Maybe Shadow Of A Doubt - that's about it.

ASK BK -

If you could enter a movie screen and inhabit the world of one Hitchcock film, what would it be? And why?

That's very difficult - I like the town and young Charlie in Shadow Of A Doubt, so that might be fun.  And North By Northwest would be fun, just to travel all those places.

I've just made a successful walk to the post office and, on the way back, to the market. I think it's probably god exercise to get the leg back up to speed. I also think I neeed to lie down for a second in the air conditioning.  I'm planning a trip to the bank around 3 pm.

I awoke to an e-mail from paypal saying a first-time Kritzerland buyer had initiated a chargeback on his cc for the two CDs he got from us a couple of weeks ago.  In the note, it says CDs were damaged or not as described, whatever the latter means.  I responded, of course.  This person never wrote me to tell of damage, and therefore never asked for a refund or replacement copies.  In my response, I said I found that odd, and while I have no problem doing the chargeback that it would at least be nice to know what the damage was, and if this person had any intention of returning the product that he says is damaged.  I then wrote the guy and told him I found it odd that he didn't contact us, copied him on my response, and said I'd like the courtesy of a response from him.  The worst that will happen is we'll refund the guy's dough, but I'm not approving it until he agrees to return the CDs (I'll pay for the postage).  Paypal, of course, has already put a hold on those funds, not that that's a big deal.

And since I had to deal with that, a jog is doubtful, unless I go do a quick two miles right now.

We are back from the medical imaging place (which used to be a supermarket - weird) and the technician said she saw no blood clots in my leg - YAY!  Waiting for the confirming call from the doctor's office.
