Good morning, all! I went to bed around 11,, because I was tired, and I couldn't sleep, Around 12:30 I began reading John Wiley's book on the ballets of Lev Ivanov and stopped around 2. At some point after that I passed out. So, I slept longer than I wanted today, and I believe I will postpone my Toyland trek until tomorrow. I'm having a good time proofing the new orchestra score to OH BOY! and I believe I shall continue with that today. I also need to begin my notes on the Appendix numbers from THE MOST HAPPY FELLA.
I've managed to miss all my high school reunions, and DR Ginny and Richard usually keep me informed. For some reason, our 45th anniversary is having a reunion in September at the same time as my birthday. I had wanted to attend, but, because I worked little during July and because the asses in Accounts Payable at the Library of Congress have screwed up payments on Life Begins At 8:40, my finances are in utter chaos at the moment and I can't afford a trip to the corner. I also wanted to buy a new suit for the McGlinn memorial in September, which is also happening at the time of my high school reunion, since I'm one of the speakers, but I'll drag out the one I have and hope it fits.
Speaking of McGlinn, I've been thinking very seriously about my podium time. I have five minutes and I do not want it to be about me, which is what I see a lot in memorials, but I'm sure it will end up being exactly that. I also have to read a letter from tenor Jeffrey Lentz, who cannot attend.
