My DH and I went for an early-morning walk to enjoy the cool August morning.

I don't think I have ever used those words together: "cool August morning." But this is such a weird summer that it was true.

How nice for you.

Today's laugh-o-rama department:  Just heard from the nurse.  I don't have a tear (thankfully), but do have some sort of "signficant trauma," which she described in terms I could not understand.  But then she said it was akin to "runner's knee" and said "this does happen quite a lot with athletes," implying I have athletic tendencies.  After I finished laughing, I thanked her.

;D

Now what?

Back from the long jog, and now I shall do more postage, after which I'll have to get something to eat.

WHOA!

I just had to look up a reservation on USAirways "new and improved" website, and, well... It took me a few minutes to figure out the intersecting-tic-tac-toe-grid-looking thingy. ::) -Thankfully, after clicking past that screen, the regular grid came up.  But, seriously, I was confused for a bit.  And I'm not one to be easily confused. I mean, I might play dumb every once in a while, but.. ;)

Uh oh. I am in trouble. I use USAirways quite a bit, and I AM dumb.

;D

For now they still have the option to use the old site.

DR Jane - haven't heard from my sister yet.  She volunteers in the genealogy department at her local public library on Tuesday mornings, so I knew she'd be away then.  The family grapevine has informed me that while she was working at the library someone called her and invited her to play golf this afternoon, so she hasn't been home yet.  Good thing her husband is!

I talked to her last night and she told me about her birthday present from her husband.  They went to one of the car dealerships that's going out of business and bought file cabinets, which he painted fire-engine red.  He made a white countertop and that plus two 2-drawer file cabinets will comprise her new work station.  She also has a 3-drawer file cabinet.  This is all to accommodate her paper-dependent hobbies, genealogy and scrap-booking.

DR Ginny, such an interesting volunteer job.  Keith occasionally volunteers to do genealogy research for friends.  He is currently working on the new in-laws.  We were pleasantly surprised to find my cousins in Chicago have an interest in our family history.  Yesterday we mailed them a genealogy CD which included 108 images.

Nice birthday gift :)

DR elmore - :)

So - and you may not be able to discuss this publicly, but... Does part of your McGlinnventory duties include returning certain materials to their original (rightful?) owners?

Yep.

I didn't know whether to laugh or be offended.
So I chose to be both.

I have visited the attic in Amsterdam. Difficult to laugh once you've been there and to Bergen Belsen,

I got a call from Greg Edelman while i was out, and now he's away from his phone.

It's too warm, the AC is doing little to help and i'm drowsy. I may fill the tub with cool water and play YMCA for a bit.

DR Michael S, I'm not sure I would have the heart to go to both those places.  I admire those who go.

I am home sick today. No vibes needed, however. It is just a mild cold or allergies. My sister thinks something is pressing on my brain, but I am not really sure what she meant by that.

Maybe she thinks you're queer.

Yes, the nurse informed me my condition was exacerbated by movement...and by sitting.  What else is there?  ;)

I have nothing to say today, except that Jane and the kittens get spayed/neutered on Friday. Then they will go to adoptions on Saturday.

Do you all remember my handyman George? He came through his eye operation fine but he cannot do any work for another week. Please send him some vibes for a speedy recovery so I can get him in here ASAP to hook these bookcases up to the wall. My apartment is in chaos until then and i will stop coping in about 3 days of this madness.

Currently, since i've taken all the books down that I can, I cannot find anything and the big job is tomorrow when the super's grandson helps me take all the bookdsdown and sort for keeping and shipping to Miami U. After tomorrow, until I can replace items on the bookcase, I can live only in a tiny amount of space in the apartment. Oy!
