THE EARL OF SANDWICH

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a sandwich vibe, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating a sandwich and singing the Duke of Earl.

God in heaven! Thunder, lightning and a real storm with pouring rain. It's really noisy outside! I thought the rain was tomorrow.

Well, I must have been sound asleep since I didn't hear a thing. I suppose my husband will ask me at lunch this afternoon if I heard anything and I will say "no, dear, I didn't. I guess I slept through it"

Aren't domestic conversations fun?

It's 5:34 and I'm here alone finishing my oatmeal with blackberries and raspberries and a cup of coffee.

Sam was here when I signed on but now she's gone.

And now I'm gone.

Bye.

Well, jury duty was ok.  I did make it to the panel after one person was excused.  They asked me quite a few questions and it was pretty clear to me that the defense lawyer (insurance co. for the school that was being sued for not protecting Native American siblings from being assaulted) did not want me on the jury. So I was struck in the final cut

LOL!  I thought you wrote, "after one person was executed."

that would be a hung juror (hanged actually, but doesn't sound as good)

HOW HUNG WAS HE?

Wednesday morning greetings.  I would have liked to sleep later this morning, but, alas, it was not to be.

Vibes to Jayson for his procedure.

Good morning, all! I really did this bookcase salvage backwards and now I have to live with it. I should have checked with George about his schedule before setting up a date with the super's grandson. So, I think this will become a 4-part project instead of 3. When the kid (he has a name; it's Serbian and I really don't know how to spell it!) gets here around 11, I think I will have him pull all the books down from the top of the bookcase and decide if I will keep or ship. I have the storage boxes all sitting here ready to go. Then, I guess next week, just before Geroge does the bookcases, I'll have the grandson  come back and help me take all the music and books off the shelves and stack them on the little space left. Then, after George has done his mighty handyman work, I'll have the grandson come back and help me put everything back. I hope George's recovery is quick. I do not cope in chaos and disorder. I'm hoping, too, that George can do the work on Tuesday, since it's a McGlinnventory day for me, I can give him my spare keys and get out of the way.

And that's my life for the time being. Of course, with my luck, the grandson flies back to Serbia tomorrow and I've lost my help. On the positive side, I am getting back to my usual sleeping pattern before the who megillah began, and that's really good.

Here's a technical question for BK...or anybody else who can answer it.

If you see a film clip that you like on, say YouTube, is there any way that you can download it, so that you have it on your own computer?

I have a Mac.

Thanks.

Good morning!

Another typical August day with a chance for showers but temps in the high 80s. It was 92 yesterday, and it wouldn't surprise me if it got that high today either.

I had a really strange, uncomfortable night of sleep, but I've resigned myself to this kind of night until I get some answers about my condition. I decided I'd take today as a day of rest without trying to do anything or go anywhere.

I got a call from the rehabilitation facility at the hospital. My doctor has suggested physical therapy, and I'm scheduled for Monday morning. I'm not sure this is necessary, but I guess it can be canceled if the MRI results suggest something else is wrong.

I have two TV box sets waiting for review: SONS OF ANARCHY (Blu-ray) and THE UNTOUCHABLES - Season 3, Volume 1. I will only do the former if no other reviewer at my worksite wants it. The latter is next on the agenda otherwise.

The Middletown Journal, alas! I remember the good old days when it took more than 15 minutes to get through it. Now it's a rag.
