Thank you Jane..  :)

We are waiting until next summer and then go visit some freinds of his in the Bay area.  I already have destinations planned out: Amoeba and City Lights!

They are taking odds on how long it will take to get me out of City Lights....

We are thinking of gong to Chinatown and Rasputin.

Yeah, well, BK's vote counts for INFINITY so nyah, nyah, nyah.  ;)

Facebook strikes again department:  I have been hired for a writing assignment by a company based in Sweden, which got me to thinking of a wonderful exchange student we had when I was quite young (she was hosted by one of my sisters, who was then a senior in high school).  Eva was a typical gorgeous Swedish blonde, smoked (which was unheard of in those days for a 17 year old), and had been schooled for part of her life in GB, so she had this marvelous mix of a Swedish and English accent.  I just had a huge, huge crush on her.  So signing this writing contract got me to thinking about her, and I just checked on Facebook, and lo and behold, there she was!  So I've "Friended" her and sent her a message, hopefully she'll write back.

And is that why you and Betsy have separate computers?

;)

DR DAW, fortunately we noticed the problem with THE CLOSER in time to set it to record last night’s episode.  I’m sorry you missed it, be sure to catch the rerun of “Smells Like Murder”.   Until last night I missed the name of the gal, Sosie Bacon,  playing Brenda’s niece.

The Middletown Journal, alas! I remember the good old days when it took more than 15 minutes to get through it. Now it's a rag.

Here's an item from today's Sound Off (anonymous voicemails transcribed on the opinion page):

On Saturday, I attended an evening with Christine Andreas, sponsored by the Middletown Lyris Theatre.  I think most of Middletown would have enjoyed this evening very much.  You missed a wonderful performance.  Maybe if she comes back - if she will grace your presence - more people could attend this wonderful evening.

Sounds to me like they had a small crowd.  Which we both know, DR Elmore, can easily get swallowed up in the Dave Finkelman Auditorium.  How depressing.

I thought you had typed "DR Elmore can easily get swallowed up in the Dave Finkelman Auditorium," which made me wonder where MBarnum was.

(Just a joke, only a joke, keep moving along.....)

I am inundated with various opera and ballet Blu-rays which I must review.  I actually liked the ballet I just watched, La Fille Mal Gardee, so my brain must be getting soft.  ;)

Here's a technical question for BK...or anybody else who can answer it.

If you see a film clip that you like on, say YouTube, is there any way that you can download it, so that you have it on your own computer?

I have a Mac.

Thanks.

Go to keepvid.com and enter the YouTube URL in the box at the top.  It'll give you the option to download as a flash video file (.flv extention) or an MP4, which can play in Quicktime and is better in quality.  You'll need a flash video player for your computer for the .flv files...click on the link on keepvid.com for the free .flv player.  It's free and I've never had any trouble with it. :)

I love Jeremy Davies, too.  So there you are, too.  Horse racing.

I just like the actor...if you know what I'm sayin'. ;)

The super's 26 year-old grandson, Dragan Petrov, is my new hero. Within two hours we had the bookcases unloaded, and, because he is really really really strong, he had pushed the bookcases back against the wall and moved my CD shelves back to fit againt the no-longer-leaning shelves. When George comes in, all he needs to do is find the boards inside the walls, and bolt the shelves to them. I've got around eight cartons of things to send to Miami University next week and I am a very happy camper at the moment.  Of course I am living in chaos now, but I am happy the task is accomplished.

What...no pictures??

Arsenic and Old Lace:  I was Aunt Martha in high school.

We could do an entire HHW production!

I actually was cast as one of the police officers, but backed out of that production because I was offered another role in a show where my part was written for me. :)

Good Afternoon!

Sorry to be sitting her like so much fish. I managed to step away from the computer for a while to take care of a bit of organizing, some phone calls, some texts, and some lunch. -It really just nice to sit in the dining room/area, at the the dining table, and eat.  No computers.  No TVs.  -Although, I did have a copy of the New York Times - Frank Bruni's last review!.  But still, it was nice to feel civilized again. ;)

Oh... And I'm still waiting to hear from my cousin. She supposedly got into town this morning - she took the red-eye from Seattle - but I have yet to hear from her.  I just hope her flight plans weren't affected by the crazy weather here in NYC and other parts of the country last night.

Thank you DRs for all the condolences messages.

In the News of the Weird category, another family member passed away on Monday (actually a cousin-in-law's brother) and both he and our secret-keeper will be laid out at the same funeral home tonight only. . .

My condolences to you and your family, td.

I hope DR Laura's camera broke AFTER photos of the kittens were taken. ;)

I'm sorry about your camera.  It seems you haven't had it long enough for it to break.  If you contact the company maybe you can get some credit towards a new camera.

Hey, DR Dakotacelt, it's good to see you back with us! I think it's fantstic you're studying for the GRE and wish you the best with it.

I am feeling better, thanks for asking!

When do the last two weeks of GL begin?I could videotape it for you. I think that Ron's finished taping; he and Dona are on a cruise to St Petersburg. Today she emailed me that they are somewhere between Helsinki and Germany.

OK - Now that I'm down dawdling and not-dawdling here around the apartment, it's time for me to head out for a bit and run some errands.

-DR elmore - I should be in your 'hood sometime between now and whenever. ;)
