Shayne, neither Mr. De Palma or I was in economy - I used mileage to upgrade to first class.

Right now, I'm listening to Joe Papp (yes, that Joe Papp) sing "Please Don't Monkey with Broadway," written for the film, Broadway Melody of 1940.

Just had to share. :)

That number was a bitch to record and Joe Papp was a complete creep!

Oh, my! :-\

Little Caesar, mafia don, with henchmen and all. And as friendly and cuddly as barbed wire. The rest is for the memoirs.

With everything that you're going to put in the memoirs, can't you do a volume one...and sooner rather than later?? ;)

LOL!

Actually, DR George, you should subscribe to the Castrecl list; I wrote about that McGlinn recording a couple of weeks ago.

Good Evening!

We're all back from Red Robin.  No children cried. No adults cried. -And that's really all that matters.  ::)

*And we had a great(!) waiter, Gus, who managed to take care of all of us - four kids and seven adults - without missing a beat or blinking an eye.

DR elmore - Andy Karl was also in the reading of The Legend of Stagecoach Mary.  Just sayin'. ;)

*Was his wife, Orfeh, also a part of the reading?

DR singdaw, you should have come in and seen it with me. I love love love Lauren Kennedy; she makes difficult music sound effortless and heartbreaking, and, while her characterization was much different from Steenburgen, you just knew she and Wells were perfect for each other. And she's such a lovely lady offstage. I adore her.

...And she made it "out of the dessert" after starring opposite Val Kilmer in The Ten Commandments: The Spectacle Musical.  -Which was neither "spectacle", nor "Musical".  Nor "musical".  ;)

*I still remember wanting to say Hi to her after the show. When she emerged from the stage door, she pulled her baseball cap down, and made a beeline for the parking lot. Gotcha... Nevermind.

A question for the Mac users:

Are we supposed to go buy this new snow leopard thing? What happens if you don't?

Mac makes sure our computers shut down and won't operate until we buy the snow leopard update. :-)

That will only affect Mac users living in Florida.

Well, in Stagecoach Mary he was clearly secondary, but he must be another friend of Curtis'. I wish I'd known; I would have mentioned it to him today. No, I don't even know if Orfeh was there. Jessica was there but I didn't get to say howdy to her.

Actually, I had subscribed to the Castrecl list years ago and unsubscribed for some reason.  A couple of years ago (or was it just last year?), I resubscribed but there were so many e-mails, I couldn't keep up.  I unsubscribed again. :-\

I did not see any bears today, but this morning when I opened the door to grab my newspaper I came face to furry face with a racoon. He was very cute and seemed quite interested in me.

The raccoon has good taste.  ;)

Well, what's not to like about Indian food?

Thanks for the suggestions DR MBarnum.

Raccoons are cute.  We used to watch the babies play outside in both of our Michigan homes.  In house #1 we had to use rags dipped in ammonia to keep them out of the outside garbage cans.  Once the next door neighbor who left food out for them moved we didn't have a problem.

DR elmore - Did you end up booking yourself into the Capitol Hill Suites? or did the LoC?

OK... Time for some cake here at my brother's place, then a stop at 7-11 to buy the winning MegaMillions lottery ticket, then on down to Richmond...

Laters...

No worries.

*I think I might actually know the "Kyle" at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel.  I have a feeling he might have been dealing with all the last minute reservations and accommodations being made for Ted Kennedy's funeral in D.C. tomorrow.

It's pretty much the same thing with PC users and the soon-to-arrive Windows 7.  Microsoft has pretty much been pushing this upgrade as a cure-all for Vista.  The thing is, I like Vista and I haven't had one single problem with it once I learned where everything is.  I don't want to spend $220 just to have an all-new learning curve.

DtM - I like Vista too. We have it at work and haven't had any problems.

Doesn't Martha Stewart have Akitas?

Oh, I think she has a Chow. In any case..

Two of her dogs, Francesca and Sharkey, actually have their own blog:

The Daily Wag

They "interview" fellow dogs in need of good homes.

This site shows an unknown, to me, better side of Martha Stewart.  What a menagerie :)

I see a Chow & 2 Boston Terriers.  She also has some beautiful cats.

Martha has always been a big animal lover
