The site was down for a moment - first time I've seen that in ages.  Probably a hiccup on the server.

I believe the jackhammering and noise must have stopped around one and that's when I fell asleep - so three hours and twenty minutes, I guess.  I shall now get dressed, go downstairs and be ready for transportation to the Newark airport.  Send excellent vibes and xylophones for a safe, on-time, and nice flight home, please.

Greetings from the Newark Airport.  Slight drizzles on the way here, but it seems to have stopped now.  We board in about forty-five minutes.  The drive was very quick and would have been quicker if the driver hadn't gone to some far-away parking lot first.  But I still got here in about twenty-three minutes.

Friday morning greetings!  I'm up early today because later this morning I'm having a medical screening that requires a 4-hour fast.  Had to get my coffee before the cut-off!

Last night's rehearsal was not so good....I missed some important lines....who knows why.  People were going a little crazy.  We shall see what happens at our lovely dress rehearsal tonight.

I am working until 3 p.m. and then off to the theater.

Good morning, all! The hotel madness continues today and I hope it is resolved ASAP. I think I will book a room at the Capitol Hill Suites, if they have any space, this morning after my trip to the bank. Then, if all else fails, I will at least have a room. I'm bummed I didn't see our BK last night and it would have been nice to see Marrill, whom I've not seen in around six months, and Rodzinski, who I hope will return to HHW son.

Today, I've got a trip to the bank and then I'm working on Brent's album most of the day. I'm hoping to finish most of it over the weekend, take what's hangng over to DC with me and ship it out on Thursday after photocopying everything on Wednesday.

TOD:
DVD: the second half of the ghost collection from Netflix, I am behind on my classical music viewing and I have a couple of ballets I haven't yet watched
CD: Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, Offenbach Entre Nous, Marilyn Hill Smith's operetta compilations
VCR: The Guiding Light for Dakotacelt

Good morning!

Looks like we might have some rain today. Still going to be warm (mid-80s), but maybe with some showers mixed in.

I got five hours of good sleep, but that's all. All further attempts at sleep were for naught. I suspect another nodding off/nap at some point today.

Unless the Blu-ray of EARTH arrives today, I'll be beginning a mammoth project - Criterion's 9 1/2 hour THE HUMAN CONDITION. It's three superlong Japanese films filmed over a three year period with the same main character. I have never seen any of these movies, and due to their length and a disc of bonus supplements, I suspect three days is the minimum I'll be spending on it.

When I have early mornings like this, I have to look for things to do to budget my time adequately. I'm going to head down now to see what I can find to clean. Maybe I'll feel like a nap after that.

Oy!  Stayed up until 1:30 am to finish reading Neil Gaiman's THE GRAVEYARD BOOK.  An absolutely wonderful book that I recommend to all (though I could kick myself for not recognizing its literary ancestor while I was reading it--what a dope!)

Last night I watched THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT on TCM, a strange little Warner Brothers' flick that starts out as a buddy movie with George Raft and Humphrey Bogart but then turns into a potboiler once Ida Lupino enters the scene.  What is truly bizarre is that the makers completely lifted a murder plot from an earlier Bette Davis movie (almost duplicated shot-by-shot) and plunked it into this film.  Has any other movie ever done this kind of thing?
