I have never been to a State Fair.  And I never went to the Renaissance Fair here in LA - my ex-wife used to go, but I would not - ever.

I'm up.  Good night's sleep, but I wish I'd gone to bed an hour earlier.

Just went out to jog, and had to come back in - the fires have caused the air to reek of smoke and ash, and it's simply not healthy to run in such air.

Jrand - I seem to have the very same (well not the very same, but of its kind) Fulton theatre Playbill featuring Boris Karloff on the cover.

On the title page, does yours say "Beginning Monday, June 1, 1942"

DR MBarnum I would be grumpy after a day like you had.  It is almost impossible to hear a cell phone in a crowded noisy area.  I try to keep it in a pants pocket so I feel it vibrate.  Even doing that I can miss calls.

I'm glad you aren't running in it.  My brother said he won't exercise until the air quality improves.

Our favorite Renaissance fair was in California. I don't know why it would be better there, or if it was still new to us.   I remember taking the boys in Pennsylvania, not sure if we went to one anywhere besides the two states.

I don't think I have a favorite fair food.  There were deep fried twinkies at the music fest in Bethlehem, PA.  I thought they looked disgusting & would not try one to report to Keith.

I once ate a soap on a rope.

And apparently chips of lead paint as well!

Now, play nice boys. You're both pretty!

Now, Ben, DR slingshot knows I love him!

I bought 2 cd book cases at Ikea.  Unpacked each has maybe 50 screws, what was I thinking.

I work at the bottom of the foothills of Tujunga, where the fires are.  I hope we can breathe tomorrow.

Dear Cillaliz, Please don't stress eat.

I forgot to say that I did go shopping in La Jolla.  80% off a Waterford snowflake bowl.  80% off a Navajo sterling silver/14K pendant.   80% off at the bead store for the rest of the components to finish the necklace.   Not a bad day.

Skip is now in San Diego. I'm pretty sure he'll be dining between the two shows at that Wolfgang Puck's restaurant that Sam mentioned.

Well I must be getting senile, because I distinctly remember BK telling me that XXX XXX XX XXX was not his upcoming release.  But maybe that was a few releases ago.  ;)

Didn't Elmore have a really funny story about a theater party at that show?  Elmore?

What was up with that Data Lounge link someone sent last night to CASTRECL that was supposedly about Mandelbaum?  I didn't see any mention of him, but then again, I may have been looking for XXX XXX XX XXX.  ;)

DR JMK - it's an old thread, going back to 2007.  Just innuendo and conjecture.  Nothing to see here, folks....move along.

Finished addressing all packages, and there were more than usual for this release.  We'll now attach the postage.

The above is a  reference to a very strange "review" by jesse21 on All that Chat.

specifically the line:

at yesterday's performance, it played to a front row of twelve mostly bald-headed men and about twenty others scattered through the theater. To be fair, it was the afternoon, but I still doubt this one is going anywhere.

Yes, folks, we are now "reviewing" the appearance and hair of the audience.
