Good Evening!

The auditions went very well today, and they tried out a new system which seemed to work for everybody. Well, almost everybody.  There's always one in the crowd.  Alas, as far as this group is concerned, it's always the same one.

I was actually done around 5:30, then decided to just to take an honest to goodness break.  I met up with a friend for dinner.  After dinner - burgers - we walked around Uptown for a but, then we watched the season finale of "True Blood". -Which we both really, really, really, liked!!!!

bk - As for "Mad Men"...

-I'm a fan of the show.  The show does go off on some tangents which puzzle me at times, but everything  manages to come back together in one way or another.

-As for a majority of characters being off-putting: That's just the world of the show. You don't have to like everyone to keep watching it.

-The show has never been a commercial success, and AMC and the creatives have been open about the disparity between the critical and public reception.  It's been labeled as "The Best Show That No One is Watching".

Dear DAW, what does WSMA stand for?

The World's Sexiest Man Alive, aka Brent Barrett.

Oh. I always thought you were talking about my husband.

But Laura, they ARE talking about your husband but didn't want to make you jealous!

My sister has vegan cookbooks that are created without the use of eggs, so she doesn't have to convert regular recipes.

Um... I thought they had stopped using eggs to make books years ago?

In other theatrical news...

Hugh Jackman stopped the show, his show, Three Days of Rain, because of an audience member who kept chatting throughout the performance.  She was then escorted by security out of the theater.

The Avenue Q news is, well, let's just say that the show's producer does not like to say die - EVER.

And now, I'm off to my parent's house to meet up with my sister and her boy friend, then we and my dad are going to Seattle for the Dave Brubeck concert!

Until later!

Have a good time!

Have fun DR George.

Thanks, Matt and Jane.  We did!  The guy is going to be 89 years old in December, and when he very slowly walked up the two steps to the stage, he had to be helped.  But when he sat down and played, man...could he play!  It was a great show and my dad was in heaven!  He never thought that he'd ever get to see Dave Brubeck play live, but he did.  When the quartet played "Take Five," one of Dave's signature tunes, they got a very deserved standing ovation.  They got another standing ovation at the end of the show, too.  And they announced (although, I'd read it before), Dave was just selected for this year's Kennedy Center Honors!
