Thanks for all the vibes for my Papasaurus. I'm hoping he'll get sprung from the jernt tonight.

If he stays over again, I'll go up after work and then to see Os Mutantes. And then, a nice long sleeeeep I hope!

Richard Heene obviously thinks it's supposed to be all about "him".   My guess is that if the law concurs that he staged this little "adventure", it will prosecute him for perpetrating a fraud and charge him for all the manpower/resources costs of tracking the balloon and retrieving it.

My guess is that he did, but they will be unable to prove it.

With the return of UGLY BETTY tonight, I'll have to watch something "live" at 8 p.m. since I have THREE shows tonight in that opening hour: LAW & ORDER, GHOST WHISPERER, and BETTY. BETTY's second hour also conflicts with MEDIUM and MONK (though MONK repeats tonight's episode at an early morning time).

I'll likely watch the two CBS shows "live" and let everything else record.

Thursday and Friday nights are now the nightmare TV schedules for me.

Well, my nightmare is compounded by STARGATE-UNIVERSE at 9 and SANCTURAY at 10.

It's funny that there is so much on tv on a friday night!

I love GHOST WHISPERER and MEDIUM. ANd i also love UGLY BETTY. Can't wait to see the 2 hour premiere. And hopefully lots of people will watch.

I'll be recording these shows tonight.  I'm going to my sister's for dinner (AND NO ASSEMBLING OF ANYTHING! ;)) with the family and I don't know when I'll be home.

You want to see something sickening, watch the following - I actually think the CNN jerk is worse than the family, who are obviously lying through their teeth.

The blue skies we had earlier today have been overtaken by gray clouds. We may be in for more rain, and I know its going to get a bit colder.

I didn't get those remastered GIGI and AMERICAN IN PARIS discs on DVD; I only had the original DVD releases for both of them, but to me the Blu-rays were MAJOR upgrades to what I had. I think PARIS is the better of the two in terms of video quality. I understand GIGI's original elements were in very bad shape.

At any rate, the only thing I hated about PARIS was the weak audio track (not a lossless encode but a low bitrate Dolby Digital track that sounded like it was the same as the orignal DVD track. Unworthy of an HD upgrade. Sounds is JUST as important as picture.)

While lunch was cooking, I began watching BONES on Blu-ray; those set-in-London episodes that began last season. All the drama with Angela and Hodgins was disconcerting when faced with two murder cases.

While I ate lunch, I watched last night's THE MENTALIST. What a surprise to find Mark Pellagrino (who's playing the Devil on SUPERNATURAL this season) as the head of the biker gang (excuse me, motorcycle club) in the episode. Really enjoyed the back and forth with Patrick and the club members. The mystery was pretty good, but the game was given away during the driving sequence.

Then I watched today's work project A: MY LIFE IN RUINS. It's a very mediocre romantic comedy. Very predictable scenario, and Nia Vardalos just doesn't have the screen charm and charisma to work as a romantic leading lady. (She goes through the first half of the film with her mouth open; very unattractive, and she's stiff compared to the better actors around her). Sure, a few of the jokes land and there's some decent sentiment, but even at 95 minutes, it seemed long.

There were THREE commentaries! I don't know why they'd do that instead of editing the three into one decent track. The star, the director, and the writer each get his own, but actually the writer is the chattiest of the three. The director had some decent comments to make. I found Nia's track the least interesting by far.

There were really only two other bonus features: seven deleted scenes and an alternate ending and a little featurette where the director has edited together the entire cast making eyes at the (very handsome) leading man throughout the picture.

So, a very disappointing work project this afternoon.

I think the networks are all in cahoots with AT&T U-verse....you need that service to get their record-four-channels-at-once DVR to keep up on Thursday and Friday nights.

Popping in for a second, I'll be back later.  However, before I go, I was looking at the pictures of Opening Night of Bye Bye Birdie on playbill.com - is there a reason that they cast a 12 year old as Conrad Birdie??  (sarcasm, of course, but really....)
