I haven't gotten around to watching last Sunday's THREE RIVERS, but I need to. I read that CBS is mulling taking it off the air. The ratings aren't horrible, but there is definitely a dip between THE AMAZING RACE and COLD CASE in terms of ratings.

I'm afraid they might move MEDIUM to SUnday and put FLASHPOINT back on at Friday. I really like MEDIUM on Friday now. I guess FLASHPOINT could be a Sunday show. It has a lot of heart and might pair nicely with COLD CASE's usually poignant stories.

Guess I'll go get ready for my usual Friday outing, and then start watching some of that enormous backlog of stuff on my DVR.

DR JoseSPiano - Wow, I hadn't heard about that.  I'm sure DR FJL can give you more specific information, but I did find this!

Wow! They spring a new tax without anyone knowing about it? That's awful.

Those of us in Oregon who are self-employed need to pay an annual Tri-Met self-employment tax.  And I never take the bus!

The receptionist is quite upset that I kicked her out of her little cubicle to use her computer.  ;)

Hopefully they didn't send out the notice via snail mail.

Why do people in waiting rooms assume you're breathlessly interested in their life stories?

I find the "Tragedy on Survivor" headline on MSN's home page somewhat hyperbolic, considering the circumstances.  The real tragedy is everyone's stupidity vis a vis the "other" Russell.  :)

For the restaurants who say they won't seat you until your entire party is there, what happens if someone shows up after you've been seated. I mean they aren't going to kick out the whole party, right?

Although, I have been in a situation where some "surprise" guests decided to drop by, and in order to break any Fire Code laws, those extra guests had to be seated at another table and/or drink at the bar instead of blocking the aisles.

It's another cold and rainy day here in Sioux City, snow around the area, but we missed that. I dumped over an inch of rain out of the rain gauge yesterday and over 2 inches today.  So, not only is it a cold October we're approaching one of the wettest on record.

This really hurts the farmers who can't get the crops in because of mud, rain etc. When they get the corn in the moisture content has too high so they have to pay to have it dried or it will rot in the bins.  (higher prices -lower income on corn)  The beans are the real problem, if the beans start to swell, they will fall out of the pods, potentially meaning very little can be harvested.  That could be a disaster for some of the farmers.   Warm and dry would be a blessing right now

DR Ron....maybe they should add the weather to Farmtown and Farmville, lol

And one more thing about the whole "whole party seating" issue...

The big concern is that the "whole table" won't start ordering until the "whole table" is there.  The restaurant staff wants to provide the smoothest service to everyone in the restaurant, and if there are a series of tickets/orders for the bar and the kitchen to juggle for one table ("top"), then that could un-smooth some of that service.  So, if the restaurant can go ahead and seat other "whole parties" before you, and get their orders processed in a timely manner, it actually helps with the turnover - thus, lessening the wait time for other diners arriving after them.  *However, I have noticed at John's Pizza that if you're part of a large party - ten or more people - they usually have less of an issue of seating you if you're just waiting for one or two more guests.  They really want to keep those 2-, 4- and 6-tops turning.
