So...

I think I'm gonna take it easy here around the apartment until I head into midtown later. In the meantime, I'm going to watch the "lost episode" of "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen on Bravo. -They had transmission problems for the live feed Thursday (mid)night. Scandalous!  ::)

DR Jose, I am all in favor of the academic move for several reasons, the most selfish being that I would hate to know you were no longer living in Manhattan. I think it's a fabulous stop-gap possibility given that the theatre biz is always a precarious situation: it took me thirty years of living here to get a Broadway gig. I also think the academic position might lead to other things - musical theatre classes, etc. - that might lead to other fascinating things.

Larry - Thank You. That means a lot to me. <tear>

My friend Dona D Vaughn, aka Mrs Ron Raines, has gone from being one of the original Vocal Minority in the OBC of COMPANY to running the Opera Dept of Manhattan School of Music with stops in between as gopher, production assistant, mother, director, so who knows where our paths may go?

If anyone's coming into midtown around 4:30 to meet at the St James Theatre, I'm proposing we meet by the stage door, which is between the lobby of the St James and Angus McEndoe toward 8th Avenue. I'm goign to finish my tuna melt and head out.

I do hope bk solves the missing shorts mystery.

I was hoping that the missing sleeping shorts would be the next Adriana Hofsterrer mystery.

Back from the long jog - the site is back up, but I have no idea if it's on the old or new server.  It can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to twenty-four hours to propagate to our new ip address.  Bakalor finally responded that his server had another hiccup, which is why we were down this morning.  I'm trying to get one piece of additional information about this site from him and then he's completely out of the loop from now on.

The missing sleeping shorts have indeed be found.  She put them in a drawer she's never put them in before and shoved them way in the back under socks I never use.  I looked in that drawer three times but could only see socks and while I moved socks around I guess I didn't go far enough in the back.

That was rather anticlimactic. I was hoping that there would be some crazed Nudie fan who broke in while she was cleaning and swiped the shorts for some lascivious activity.

Well... Maybe some fan did indeed do that... And was able to return just in time.

I agree with TCB.  The mystery being solved was rather boring.

Finally finished the book, was surprised.   The 3 books together are a really nice gift for a young reader.

Just one question, who is the mother based on, I don't know any parents that were that nice, we spent most of our time yelling at the kids during High School.   What a unruly bunch they were.

Silly little story.  Since Orson Wells was part of the last book.  And because I'm really sad that may dad did not keep one thing from being in the film industry for 82 years.  I'm finally done going through everything.  Now I just need to find one of his so called friends to tell me what he did with the photo album/pictures etc.

Orson Wells was filming a movie in Vegas (with Pia Isadora I think) and complaining about the camera noise during a scene.  Supposedly they flew my dad in during the evening, put him in a suite at the hotel to be on the set the next day.   He solved the problem by sticking the eraser from a pencil in the camera to shut it up for the scene.  Filming continued.

Must get ready to leave for the hair dresser.  I always like going there, it cheers me up.   Tom usually has at least 5 clients going at the same time.   It's better than a scene with the girls from Sex in the City, since everyone is over 50 many good stories can be shared.

Have fun at John's my friends.

I'm waiting for Anthony to get home. He had business on Long Island (and he's also getting over a sinus thing). He will be back around 4:30 (the time of the gathering). We will be seeing Ginny and Richard on Monday for lunch down in our neighborhood (though I would love to see Vix and Mom and Julie but that will happen again I'm sure).

It's rainy here but it's muggy and kind of warm.

And speaking of John's, I guess I better get ready to head down to 44th Street myself.

Nope, I'm too busy watching "EuroTrash Opera" on my Blu-ray player.  ;)

Back from being out.  Had some sausage and eggs at Jerry's Deli - that hit the spot really well.

Glad Sam finished the book.  The mother isn't really based on anyone in any major way - I just observe things, dynamics, and then use the parts I like, and I will say that at least a small part of her is based on - Sam, in the same way that a small part, a VERY small part of Adriana Hofstetter, is based on her daughter, at least the type of girl her daughter was (or that I imagined her to be) when I first met her back in 2006.  The rest is from my imagination.

Had a productive and fun day of viewing so far. I began by watching last night's MEDIUM. It was already on HD On Demand, but I had also recorded the 3:32 a.m. showing (moved there due to a local station preemption), and when I check to see how it recorded, it was in HD as well (big surprise!), so I just watched it from that DVR recording.

One of the best MEDIUM episodes ever, and most definitely the best of the season. I loved every minute of this story and also Marie/Bridgette's storyline.
