Good morning!

Moderate temperatures this morning, but the gray skies are foreboding for the trick-or-treaters. I'm not sure what will happen by nightfall.

I loved the costumes bk picked for some of us in the notes, and I especially loved MY costume suggestion from bk. VERY appropriate.

I'll be continuing with NATIONAL PARKS Blu-ray today watching as many as I can squeeze in between telephone calls and answering the doorbell. I still have five episodes to go (each about two hours). There are also bonus features on each disc, so there is still a long way to go with it.

TOD:

The most elaborate costume I ever did for Hallowe'en was Merlin, and I know some pictures were taken, but I haven't seen them since my partner at the time left the nest. And since he's been gone from the earthly coil for two years, I guess I'll never see those pictures again.

When I go back down in a few minutes, I'll be watching the making-of documentary for NATIONAL PARKS and then see what TV I can squeeze in before I need to get back to work. I'll be watching SUPERNATURAL while I eat lunch.

TOD:

One year while I was a theatre major in college, a few of us decided to raid the costume shop for Halloween get-ups.  Lo and behold, we found that the costumes we had rented for our just completed production of HENRY IV had not yet been returned so we picked and chose out of the pile and augmented.  I wound up being a vampiric Earl of Westmoreland.  All our costumes were very striking but they were also heavy and as hot to wear as they were on stage.

This year I will be handing out Tricks or Treats dressed as a Tortured Artist.  Basically, I'll be wearing a black tshirt and a pained expression on my face and cover my forehead with my hand as I dole out the Fun-Sized Snicker bars.

I think I like your costume better, DR Jrand (though DR JMK's is scarier.)

I shall recommend an interesting book:

THE HARDING AFFAIR by James David Robenalt - true story of Warren G. Harding and his neighbor Carrie Philips - and how a German baroness who was arrested as a spy when she was hiding a Navy lieutenant under her bed in a Chattanooga hotel in December, 1917, figured in the case.

Intriguing, funny, and a quick read.

Time to head downstairs now. I should have time for the making-of documentary and maybe 30 ROCK before starting to eat lunch.

Actually, I doubt that I will be handing out much of anything--it's raining here and promises to be at least drizzling on and off all day.  I'm going to be stuck with way too much chocolate!

DR KERRY also sent me info on this book, which might be of interest to some.  I ordered it yesterday.

DR ELMORE that is a nice interview....and the clip is nice, too!  The more I read about Mr Jackson, the more I like him.  I am looking forward to his new CD.  AND the Cast Recording of FR!

What five people, DR Elmore?  Is that in another interview?

DR KERRY I bought the book.  I didn't even know it had been published.  Most interesting, I am sure - until they make the movie version with Sondra Bullock.

Another pain about today's rain--it has rained for the past three weekends and I have yard work to finish up and all the windows need to be washed.  I'm going to wind up having to bust my butt to catch up with this work in November.

The review made the book sound interesting.  And you never know what new tidbits you may find.
