She did every bit of it herself with no help from Mom - she sends her sincere thanks to all of you for your great recipes and clear directions - her cookies were the hit of the party (there wer no leftovers to bring back to Mom and Dad!!) and every one was very impressed that she baked from scratch and decorated them all herself

fortunately for me - I suggested that she keep a few back from the platters - so I have just enjoyed a lovely peanut butter kiss cookie

I finally got my car back - $760 odd  later.....

the insurance adjuster wanted to see the last five years of maintenance records before he would OK the claim - I was goingt o fight it but the inconvenience of having no car while I argued it would have cost me more in aggravation then what I would have saved in coverage as they only cover mechanical breakdown, not regualr service items so the new battery, the radiator flush and fill and the leaky hose would not have been covered in any case - then there is a $250 deductable on what they do cover - so in the end it would have been about $200 savings - if I won  my  appeal wjoc was doubtful since I didn;t keep teh receipts for all the past years maintence - I had been ever been asked for them before -

Vixdad thinks they are sick of paying for the car after 220,000 miles, 2 transmissions, a radiator, a water pump, an AC unit,  a head gasket... and are just going to deny the claims going forward...

Cilla, have you checked if you can get DSL in your building?

I have the internet covered.  I'm not going to change compaines for that, it's DSL.

I'll check on monday for the prices.  Dish has great prices for a year, but the second year they go up. But the channel line up is better.

I had a Christmas card from the woman who was my secretary when I was in private practice at the lakes. she was with me for about 6 years.  Anyway, I had no idea both her dog and the man she lived with for the past 15 years died this summer (not at the same time).  I called her and we talked for well over and hour.   We had a great talk.

when I told her about the new office she was shocked I went this long without cable TV.  It was the first thing I put in my office up there.

I would say "Little House" was okay. I loved the series as a child and was glad that it was not too inaccurate.

Good Evening!

$1 Coffee at the ING Direct Café.
Cuban food at Tina's.
Tumi at the Time-Warner Center.
Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream - Chocolate-Cherry-Hazelnut! - at Lulu & Mooky's.
Amazing Sichuan food at Little Pepper.
Sharing a table with three fellow foodies - one of whom writes for a magazine called "Swallow" (it's about food).

4 minutes apart Miss Julie (no relation to August Strindberg)

After Miss Julie

 ;D    ;D

And speaking of After Miss Julie, I understand the Tony Eligibility Committee just ruled that AMJ will be eligible in the Best Revival category, rather than as a new play.  WASSUP with that?  It never played anywhere in the US before.

Yeah, that is an interesting decision by the Tony committee regarding After Miss Julie, although I understand their reasoning.  I think.  -I guess they're making up for the nomination back in the mid-90's for Indiscretions which was based on Cocteau's Les Parents Terribles. ???

DR Laura - I believe the only way that Little House on the Prairie would ever come into NYC would be if they got a new director.  Just sayin'.

Probably the reason it is doing well on tour is because it is being sold as part of season ticket packages.

Iwas overcast most of the day today...

Little Black Rain Cloud

I'm just a little black rain cloud,
Hovering under the honey tree.
I'm only a little black rain cloud,
Pay no attention to little me.

Oh, everyone knows that a rain cloud,
Never eats honey, no, not a nip.
I'm just floating around, over the ground,
Wondering where I will drip.
