RLP: I thought as much.  I thought your tone had changed and that you seemed to be trying to defuse the situation.  Now we know why.

That's his MO, of course.  To whine and enlist the aid of others against big bad haineshisway.  He does that with the fellow named manderley, who did the same thing you did, tried to defuse a situation.  All he had to do was admit his error, like a normal human being.

Actually, my tone was not influenced one whit by his e-mails which were nothing more than a continuation of what he was saying on the board.

He asked me to send him a list of some things he "owed" me...I did...and he proceeded to ignore them and complain.

He posted a "mea culpa."   That ended the debate as far as I was concerned or involved.  He admitted he was wrong.

Yes, but I thought I detected something else in your the horse is dead post, prior to his mea culpa.  I'm a culpa as well.

Now, haineshisway technonerds, here is my question:  Do any of you know how to do frame grabs or screen captures on a DVD in the computer?  If so, let me know.

I think you need a Kalashnikov for a screen capture.

I'm hungry. I'm sitting in front of the computer, waiting for a visitor who will drop in, visit for a few minutes, and then leave to have supper somewhere -- leaving me sitting here and HUNGRY. I don't think that's fair. Life ain't fair. If life were fair I'd be eating a huge, thin wiener shnitzel right now.

It's not Good Friday; it's Quiet Friday in these parts.

I will be leaving soon to catch a performance of American Ballet Theatre's production of Romeo and Juliet.  I'm not nearly as big an aficianado of dance as I am of other performing arts, but I do love Prokofiev's score to this ballet.  Marcelo Gomes and Paloma Herrera will be dancing in the roles of the star-crossed lovers, so I am looking forward to this evening's performance!

Say, where in tarnation IS everyone?  You'd think it was Good Friday.  We had more posts on Passover.  Does that mean that Jews post more on their holidays?

DR George, I enjoyed MAMBO ITALIANO, too. Actually, it didn't exactly go where I was expecting, and I liked that about it. Not every actor was wonderful, but it was still enjoyable fluff.

I wonder what technique Warners has for mastering their B&W movies for DVD. They always look so sparkling. I just finished ZIEGFELD GIRL night, and it looks sensational, especially the Caribbean sequences.

After I finished it, I put in SEND ME NO FLOWERS, and I'm thrilled to say it looks sharp and deeply colorful. I'm loving DVDs right at the moment.

Some Windows DVD programs allow you to capture a still frame to your hard drive. My WinDVD Plus program does that.

I think that's what I have - a WinDVD, but I looked everywhere in the instructions, right clicked, all that stuff, and didn't see anything.

It's got to be Win DVDPlus. I guess the Plus is the added ability to do screen captures. Regular Win DVD doesn't have it as that's what I started with.

Forty-five minutes without a post?  Wow, maybe we'll achieve our new all-time low on a Friday night.

Does that mean it won't be a good Friday?
If my calculations are correct there are another two hours to go - I might even think of something worth posting. Just one of those days.

We (der Brucer and I) are back from the grandlad sitting.  Yes, they squirmed some, but not too much during the day.  We all went to the grocery store, and found what we needed for our evening repast that we hadn't brought with us.  Strange, how der Brucer and I always seem to end up cooking dinner for his daughter and kinsmen.  Well, not that strange, given her cooking, but all the same.

This was followed by some naps, and then we headed off to see Home on the Range, which was silly and fun, in a Pecos Bill kind of way.  Roseanne and Judi Dench make a perfect comic pairing, as unexpectedly good as Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were.  The grandlads enjoyed it.  So did der Brucer and I.

It wasn't until we got back to the kinfolk's homestead that all hell broke loose.  I've never known a family to be so ready to battle with each other as der Brucer's daughter's does, charging towards one calamity after another.  One grandlad charged upstairs to pout and hide in front of the television, the parents had not one kind word to say to each other, and the younger grandlad ran from one parent to the other shouting to get any attention.  Through it all, der Brucer and I kept our calm, keeping our voices level and modulated, temporary eyes watching the hurricane.

Der B is exhausted, sound asleep on my bed.  There's got to be a way of getting that family into therapy, but I don't know how.

I'm off to read today's posts.

CD player: Jason Graae, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.  Part of the fun is having der Brucer call out "What show is this from?" in the middle of a number, totally flummoxed because he knew each song was from something.
