I am trying to remember what books I read this year...and I did read several...most were books about the Hindi film industry.

There will be free CDs for all in attendance - don't know which yet - and maybe even a t-shirt or two will be given out.

It's really cold in the house - it heats up very slowly.  It was sixty-three when I got up this morning.  Too cold for the likes of me.

Hugs to doggie Bosco and DR MBarnum.

And re: the 4 year old saying which presents he didn't like. Oy.  My niece did something similar. Her best friend went on vacation and brought her back a necklace. Apparently my niece threw it on the floor and said she had too many necklaces (this was at daycare). My sister was not happy about this.

I guess my niece must have been in a bad mood because normally she loves jewelry. My sister made her draw her friend a picture and apologize.

Hopefully we will see pictures of the do.

Is there a chance that the do across the street is actually taking place tomorrow instead of tonight?

Hopefully she will like my gift. I got her a bunch of Care Bear books. i'm pretty sure she'll like this.  I also got her a small sapphire ring in silver. It will be too big so i put a chain on it. But she is obsessed with her birthstone and jewels. So hopefully it will go over well.

I wish i kept a log of all the books i've read this year. I read about 2 a week, so that could be like 100 books!

Christmas is over for both my DH (postal worker) and DS (Amazon worker). They are both tired and glad it's over.

re: the TOD.

Recently i did read the 4th book to a series i really like (it's called GRAVE SECRET). Many people have heard of Charlaine Harris (she writes the Sookie Stackhouse books that TRUE BLOOD is based on).

She writes another series called the Harper Connelly Mysteries. It's about a 20 something girl who was hit by lightning. And now she can feel if a body is buried where she is standing.

Another book I really liked which i read this week is by Lisa McMann.  The first book is called WAKE and the one i just read is the sequel called FADE. It's in the young adult section and it's about an 18 year old girl who goes into people's dreams (if they fall asleep and she is near them).

DR Jane, the recipe calls for 20 cups of popped popcorn.  I've never measured, just filled the roasting pan that I inherited from my mother-in-law.  And, Keith will have to help you, because it requires some "muscle" to stir it - and tell him to wear an oven mitt, that caramel is HOT when it touches your skin!

TOD - not all published in 2009, but my favorite reads this year were People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry, The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel, Mary, Mrs. A Lincoln by Janis Cooke Newman, and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver.

And, BK, I have yet to read the Adrianna Hofstetter mystery series.  In February, my book group is having a young adult literature roundtable and I'm saving them for that, OK?

hmm, i'll have to check what one bag of microwave pop corn equals.  all this talk about caramel corn, keith is making pop corn tonight.  i think i shall indulge since it is x-mas eve.  normally i try not to eat pop corn at night cuz it keeps me awake.  if i had caramel corn with the extra sugar i would never sleep, good thing we don't have corn syrup in the house.

Chopping away.  There is now no question that the darling neighbors will indeed be bumping heads with me this evening, Do-wise.  They've got their gardeners back even though they were there on Monday.  I'll tell you, all the lifting of boxes and moving things around - I think I pulled about twenty muscles in my back.
