First off, I'm up.  Second off, I cannot remember  a time since the advent of this discussion board when we were on page on at nine-thirty my time.  This will NOT do, oh, no, this will NOT do.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I was up earlier, but then I had to go back down.  Or something like that.

I've had a disturbing phone call concerning one of my jobs and I am debating how to proceed. My initial impulse is to bail as well as to send a scathing email to the "friend" who's caused all the problems with the job since last July. Luckily, I will be out of here shortly to see EARNEST IN LOVE and I hopefully will not think about it the remainder of the day.

I was thinking of heading back down to the Lincoln Center Atrium earlier this morning to get another numbered bracelet for their "20 for 20" promotion since tickets to the Metropolitan Opera's production of Turandot were being offered today.  Well, once I realized that I needed another hour of sleep more than I needed to see - and hear - a somewhat mediocre Calaf - I went back to bed for a bit.  Then when I finally sat up and put my feet on the ground....

Whoa!

I had some major dizziness.  I just sat on the edge of my bed for a minute or so.  Maybe I just got up too fast?  Well... Then I started to walk into the living room...

Whoa!

I've never really experienced any kind of vertigo before, and I guess this was this (that was that?).  After cautiously walking around for a bit, I settled back into bed, and then about two hours later...

Not so Whoa!...

So, I'm just taking it easy right now.  Even though I'm prone to ear and sinus stuff, I have a feeling that this may be a reaction to too much MSG.  I went out to Flushing last night with some friends for some Chinese-Sichuan food. We were all commenting on just how good the food tasted last night - like it had gotten better.  Well, I think I might know why everything tasted "better" last night.

This punchline courtesy of the Xerox914 on "Mad Men" (well, at least on Twitter):

"Thats why its called a CockPit. and not the BoxOffice."

Something tells me that most DRs won't need the set-up. ;D

We woke up to find that we had no cold water in our master bathroom this morning.

Hopefully, once the temperature rises, it will thaw out...without any major damage.

I'm up and need to take a shower.  Then, I'm off to work, then I'll come home.  That'll be my day. :)

Until later!

The Oregonian is reporting that foreclosures are up 65% in 2009 and forecasts expect 2010 to be even worse.  So there will evidently be lots of houses to choose from.  We're going back today to that one I posted pics of (blame Cilla) so that the kids can see it.

Mine will probably be one of the, JMK. Put your bid in now, I will sell cheap.

I am trying to decide if I will do something productive today or just sit on my butt watching movies. It seems like a good movie watching sort of day.

DR JoseP, if that vertigo happens again I do hope you will go to the doctor and have it checked out.

...and PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE will not likely play anywhere near me. The only theater showing Bollywood in these parts is now an hour and a half drive from Salem, in Hillsboro. When it was in Beaverton (only a 45 minute drive) I would go occasionally.

Thanks, DR MBarnum - I think my reaction/shock to the vertigo was actually worse than the vertigo itself.  -Just never really experienced that before.  Thankfully, as I've continued to hydrate myself... Well...  I've continued to feel better. ;)

It makes me very happy, even ecstatic, to know that even as late as 1970, the twist was still popular in India.

And doesn't Tanuja look a lot like Audrey Hepburn?

On a sad note, Art Clokey, creator of Gumby and "Davey and Goliath" died in his sleep Friday at age 88.

Gumby was my introduction to clay animation, and it fascinated me as a child, and still does even today.

Happy to take the blame for that, it's a cool house.   Is there another in contention?  I was thinking that you said you were choosing between two at the moment
The other contender is better for everyone, public transit wise, but Gabe would either need to change high schools or have a long bus ride every morning.

that's a difficult decision.  something else in the high school district might come up.  are you in a hurry, considering it may be awhile until you sell your house?

won't zack also need to change schools?

vertigo vibes to jose!

i have vertigo fairly often, it can be a bit disconcerting.  when the boys were in high school i had a rather long running bout with it.  i knew so many people having a problem at the same time we decided something was going around causing it.  sure enough, around the same time we all began to improve.
