TOD:

All the thrillers from the last two decades that I saw and liked were Bollywood ones, and my top three are:

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm watching actor/writer/composer/podcaster and food blogger, Jeff Blumenkrantz on "Martha Stewart".  Who knew?

The project and blog in question:

Jeff & Martha - My Year of Cooking Fabulously

-And, yes, it's in the spirit of "Julie & Julia".

That's great about your license plate, BK.  I posted this before, but it's fitting to post it again.  It's from Mel Blanc's IMDb bio.  I don't know if it's true, but it's a funny story:

Quote
His license plate read "KMIT." A representative at the California Department of Motor Vehicles asked him if it stood for a radio station, since it is illegal to advertise on a plate. He replied, "No, that's actually an old Jewish expression, 'know me in truth.'" What it actually stood for was "kish mir im tuchis," a Yiddish phrase meaning "Kiss my ass."

Great minds think alike! ;D

Mel Blanc was from Portland.

Our house is officially "active."  If you go to:

www.PortlandHomeTeam.com

Then click on "Search MLS" and enter:

10003611

in the "listing search" link

you will get a gallery (if you click gallery, LOL) of semi-lovely photos.  Because I love you all so dearly, I am offering any of you a 1% discount if you buy the house today.  ;)  (It's actually a bargain at this price, if I do say so myself--our realtor thinks we should have it listed about 100K higher, but I just want the thing to sell quickly).

Just watching some of the latest footage from Haiti... Truly horrifying and heart-breaking.

It's amazing Pat Robertson still has people who listen to him and don't laugh in his face!

Maybe they can shove it together. Oops, that migh make them "gay"

Can't get all the pictures of Haiti out of my mind.  I was there, very briefly, many years ago, and the images of poverty never left my mind all these years later.  I knew immediately upon reading the breaking news email that a 7.0 earthquake had hit Haiti, that it was going to be an unimaginable disaster once news details started coming in.  There probably are places in the world with worse poverty than Haiti, but I've never been to any.

And won't Pat Robertson be surprised when he doesn't see any Haitians in Hell!

Just read that the Finian's Rainbow cast recording will be sold at the theater starting tonight.  I'm glad they will have it for the last few performances.

That is one of my favorite pieces by my mother in law (she also did the big piece that's on the dining room wall).  Her website is:

www.jeaninesdream.com

I may have mentioned this before, but she was part of an early 50's group of artists in NYC that included Jasper Johns.  Johns painted a very lifelike still life for Jeanine before he got into the Pop Art business.  As you may know, Johns later destroyed all of his pre-Pop work.  Jeanine and Ed were able to sell this still life back to Johns a couple of years ago for an absolutely unbelievable sum.  ;)

LOL.

I got a nice copy of the HAIRSPRAY hardcover souvenir book today at Goodwill for $1.99.  Always nice to have these books - I have several - SUNSET BOULEVARD, AIDA, PHANTOM, LES MIZ, and TOMMY....but new ones are pretty expensive.  HAIRSPRAY THE ROOTS retail price was $35.

I simply can't have my head exploding now that the house is active.  Too much brain splatter to clean up afterwards.   ;D

Wow.....that must have been the ONE post you wrote that I skipped.  I noticed that it did match the art on the other wall, but couldn't identify it.

Jasper Johns is one of my favorite painters.....interesting story.
