Well DR CP you would be writing about my ancestors.....Lord Stanley who changed his mind and helped defeat Dick III was my 19th back Grandfather.

I'm running very behind this morning for some reason. Anyway, I must head down and get cleaned up for lunch out with friends today. Our last for a week.

I never saw MAGNOLIA at a theater, but since I liked BOOGIE NIGHTS, I took a chance and did a blind buy on MAGNOLIA when it came out on DVD. I loved it. It was a very risky film with a bunch of storylines, three hour length, and some unexpected twists and turns in the storytelling. I thought it was a near-brilliant film.

I have not upgraded my DVD but I'm sure I eventually will.

The first 45 minutes or so of MAGNOLIA are quite simply a directorial tour de force.  I was amazed.  Things petered out a bit after that for me.

DR Jose - thanks for the link to Russ Rizner's IBDB listing.  I have also discovered that he's on a lot of recordings, including the concert version of South Pacific and the new Joshua Bell CD that Richard gave me for Christmas.

I am glad to hear that the Fanny orchestration is under the good care and attention of DR elmore and his DAS Joshie.  I'm looking forward to seeing this next month.

We had rat-on-a-stick at our last Vacation Bible School. The kids all loved it. They exclaimed about how much it tasted like chicken (which it really was, but we were amazed that even the picky kids would try something they thought was rat).

Has anybody here seen THE STORY OF TEMPLE DRAKE w/Miriam Hopkins?

I know it's an old movie, but I'm wondering how it holds up, entertainment wise.

Thanks.

I just watched the entire movie on YouTube.

Not bad.

I'm looking forward to Fanny too - I love Elena Shaddow!  Alas, I'll be in Memphis that weekend for UPTAs, so... Guess I'll have to have an extra piece of Gus' Fried Chicken to drown my sorrows. ;)

Funny title of the notes.  My 4 year old niece uses that word all the time when she goes to the bathroom.
