BK, re: what you said in your notes.  So you will be naming your ex-girlfriend using her actual name? Or just her first name?  If nobody would know her (assuming she's not famous) then why not just use her first name?

The LOST 2 hour premiere starts tonight at 9pm!

I wonder if I will make it up to the end (it's sort of late and I usually have a to concentrate a fair amount to understand the show).

Tuesday morning greetings!  I have elected not to attend the grantwriters' meetings today, but will do some errands around town and try to get my cooking act back together.

Greeting me in my email this morning was a note from Amazon that my Finian's Rainbow CD has shipped and, since it's just coming from Lexington, KY, should be here tomorrow or Thursday!

bk - Is it possible to adjust the color settings on your television to take out some of that yellow?

Not a good idea to tinker with TV settings once they're set. The transfers should be done correctly in order to be projected correctly with a properly calibrated set.

And I'm not sure that would work anyway because the minute you adjust one primary color, it's going to throw balance off for the others.

Good morning!

I was looking forward to a walk this morning, but I woke up to rain and thus no walk. It's been raining steadily all morning, much to my chagrin.

Oscar nominations were announced this morning.

My biggest delight was that UP got nominated for Best Picture (and Best Animated Feature as well).

UPS made a huge delivery this morning: six items from Fox Home Video including five Blu-rays and THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW - Season Six. I think I can safely say that I will be SUPER busy the rest of the week.

I'll be beginning with AMELIA since it's the one release of a new film, the rest being vault titles of movies two years old or older.

TOD:

I agree with several titles already suggested here: Armstrong's "Hello, Dolly" chief among them.

Like Streisand's "He Touched Me" and "Starting Here, Starting Now" about as much as anything she ever recorded.

Of course, Judy Collins and Frank Sinatra both had hits with "Send in the Clowns," but I actually prefer Angela Lansbury's version in THE STEPHEN SONDHEIM CELEBRATION concert.

Yes, LOST is the big news tonight, a recap hour-long show, and then a two hour season premiere. Advance word is that tonight's two hours are densely plotted and convoluted to say the least.

The other networks aren't playing dead either. All are offering new episodes of their hits opposite.

Don't forget another new WHITE COLLAR tonight at 10 on USA.

Thank you Ginny, Amy and Matt!

Ahh, oatmeal. As much as I like it I do miss the days when I could go to Perkins Cake and Steak and have Steak and Eggs or a Farmhand Breakfast (something like 3 pancakes, two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage and bottomless coffee). Now, not only is it bad for the cholesterol, I don't think I could eat that much food!

We were supposed to get heavy rains, but it's just drizzly.

I should check in with the groundhog, General Lee, and see what the future holds.

Punxsutawney Phil says six more weeks of winter but Staten Island Chuck says the opposite. I'll go with Chuck this year.

The appraisal on the new house is today.  I am also meeting a contractor over there mid morning to go over some issues, like where to put the dog run.

I guess I'll get my desktop in order and then head downstairs to clear up a few things there before I start cooking lunch.

And I have last night's DAMAGES to watch while I eat (since CASTLE was a rerun that I've seen; I'll hold on to it for a while).

I'm still "not quite right" (ah, if only DAW were here  ;D).  I'm hoping the test results from the injected-dye CAT scan come back today or tomorrow.
