BBC Radio 2 is doing a multi-part bio of the Great American Songbook Composer

Jimmy Van Heusen Rupert Holmes

He was born Edward Chester Babcock in 1913 and was known as "Chet" to his family and friends.

Interesting, thanks.  I had to listen just to find out why he changed his name from the perfectly goo Chet Babcock. ;D

I own a dress up tuxedo.....and a Robert Wagner Special that I wear when I don't care if I fall down or spill food on myself.

Before I headed out to lunch, I had time to watch last night's MODERN FAMILY, another hilarious episode. The real strength of the show is that all three families have the potential to be hilarious. You aren't ever stuck on one hoping for the switch to another of the families. One third is equally as strong and funny as the other two-thirds.

We are in total agreement :D  Extremely funny episode.

Y.W......of course I wear a BLACK TIE to fancy places....all the colors were for the Fund Raiser.....and everyone looked so nice.  I love to be part of a group that gets all dressed up, your personality does change when you're wearing formal wear.

T.O.D.

I think my first dress up occasion was my sister's wedding.  I gave the bride away.

I have worn tuxedos in so many different productions that I finally bought my own about 15 years ago.  Since then I have taken it on numerous cruise ships, and used it in about twenty different Murder Mystery Dinners.

Actually the most hoity-toity event I have ever attended didn't require a tux.  That was the night I served as escort and dinner date for Colleen Dewhurst.  I wore just a standard suit and tie.

TCB, I hope you are back to feeling better in no time at all! Take care good  buddy!

Aww, thank you, Mike!

And thank you to one and all for the good vibes.  You must all be as tired of this stuff as I am.

The bad news is that my doctor is out of the office until Monday or Tuesday, and I refuse to see that quack I saw last time.

Darn, can't he leave instructions?  I guess it won't help if the quack won't lance it, or whatever your doctor does.

I'm sure there is no way we can be as tired of this as you, who are living it, must be.

No, the quack won't lance it, he won't even touch me.  The last time I was forced to see him, I walked in looking like this, told him it was episode number six or seven; and he told me I had pinkeye.

The Perfectly Goo Chet Babcock might be one of Elmore's videos, I suspect.

Here it is, DR TCB....the spiffy red handkerchief is NOT a separate piece....it is the lining of the pocket that you can pull up as a handkerchief.

My nifty Robert Wagner Tuxedo - for After Six - was a whole $10 on EBAY two years ago, description said there was a small hole in the shoulder, but I was buying it to wear in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, so I got it.....small hole was a pin hole.....I had to look closely to see it.

You can barely see the red handkerchief in my pocket, but it matches the lining in the jacket....worth all of $10 + $10 shipping.

I was hoping.....but no....however I don't think there is even a RJW line of evening wear now, so the value can only increase.
