We were talking about coincidences the other day, and I experienced a bit of one myself this evening, Dear Readers.

Last night, I went to the Getty Center to hear a lecture by the highly respected architecture critic Ada Louise Huxtable.

Tonight I was at the L.A. Philharmonic for a marvelous program of Zemlinsky and Richard Strauss, led by James Conlon.  I was seated in what the L.A. Phil's management calls the "Orchestra View" section, which is behind the orchestra, facing the conductor.  So who should be seated in the row in front of me, three seats to my right but Miss Ada Louise Huxtable.  Not sure there's anything to be read into this, but I thought it was curious.

Dear DR Tomovoz:  I understand that, when water drains out of a sink or bathtub south of the equator, it forms a funnel that rotates in a counter-clockwise direction, as opposed to the clockwise direction water drains in north of the equator.

Do you remedy this by having your clocks run counter-clockwise, as well?

I do believe Dear Reader Tomovoz would say "anti-clockwise."

CD player: Arthur and Friends.

VCR: Red Dwarf: Backwards (or sdrawkcaB, if you prefer).

I'm writing a poem about the Geologic Time Scale for my Geology class. Can anyone think of a word that rhymes with Paleogene?
