One of our dear lurker GUESTS has been reading every entry from the end of 2005 to March of 2006 - reading relentlessly the same threads over and over and over again.  So, I just went and checked out the what people have been searching and then I knew instantly who our lurker GUEST was/is.  Since said GUEST is relentlessly reading all the threads concerning a little thriller we were doing back then, I think you might just be able to figure out who it is.

Morning all.

Oatmeal with walnuts and cranberries has been consumed and coffee has been drunk. Shower and dress is next and then off to the off(ice).

The weather in New York is not bad at all. It's about 32 degrees right now and the snow they forcast has not arrived.

Fred - As for "the list", I guess I sort of did post a list along the way.  However, I did note that even though there were a couple of "greatest hits", the repeat factor was very low this year.  In general, the audition songs spanned the musical theatre repertoire - and even included an aria and art song or two.  I do head to Lexington, KY, in a few weeks for SETC where there will be more college-aged auditionees, and I'm sure more of the "new" stuff will be placed in front of me at the piano.

The snow did arrive.  It just did not stick.  -At least not up here in upstate Manhattan.  It looks pretty in the sky and on the cars, but there's nothing on the sidewalks except for some slush.

Well, you're below the equator - a.k.a. 42nd Street.

Anthony was surprised at the number of auditions this week and next. It's been quite dead for a while. He had a call for Merry Go Round Playhouse (they are doing many things, one of which is Drowsy) on Sunday and he's going to something tomorrow as well.

Yep... Now that the companies knew that they would still be in business this Spring and Summer... <sigh>

*Did you hear about the closing of the Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan? After 64 seasons, they shuttered last week. :(

And speaking of auditions, I should get ready for my day of auditions.  Well, at least playing for them.  And since I happen to be up early enough, I believe I can partake of the Hi Ho Pistachio Hot Chocolate before I play today instead of afterwards.  ;)

Yes, I heard about the Barn. It's sad. Some theatres are surviving and others are either closing or going non-union.

DR Jennifer, I'm jealous at the amount of coverage you can see there

It's basically 24 hour a day coverage on 3 channels.

Surprisingly, CTV (the main channel), is the one i'm watching the least. Because they just flip back and forth.

TSN (the sports network) and Rogers sports are showing complete events from the start. So one of them had the entire pairs figure skating last night. And the other had 500m long track speed skating in its entirety.

That is how i prefer to watch.

DR Cillaliz, I was just reading your post about how you thought the pairs skaters were much stronger this year.

I agree and disagree. I think many had the potential to be great. But I was very disappointed but how many teams missed their jumps. And i could not believe how team #3 was so out of sync in their turns. Ridiculous.

I thought the performance of the night last night was the chinese team who finished 2nd. I was so moved by them. Perfection!  The team that won was good too. But they missed that lift.

It is now snowing south of the Equator (i.e. south of 42nd Street), although it is not a heavy or a sticking snow.

Vibes for all stuck in or facing more snow.

Work on the magazine continues. The designer may or may not make it, but the product will. God willing.

TOD:  "Tokyo Story," which was inspired by DR Druxy's choice, "Make Way for Tomorrow," a film I haven't seen and would like to. The Japanese couple at the center of Yasujiro Ozu's film are so warm and wonderful with each other, and the actors make you believe they had been married for years. I showed this film to my parents a few years back and even my dad got choked up at the end.

I'm back in my Philly office today...

Driving in, there was some pockets of snurries.  But I just turned around and looked out my window to see it snowing heavily.  I know they called for snow showers throughout the day but no accumulation.  Hope not!

Greetings from the Amherst Library! Joseph has about three hours of photocopying and then we head back. I had a great day after finishing my research: Iwent to the student union snack bar and I visited the Music Dept Library, which was interesting with some fascinating opera and ballet scores, both piano-vocal and orchestral. Today, since I can't help Joseph with his research into George M Cohan, I will be editing the WIZARD OF OZ orchestra score.

It was snowing when we checked out of the hotel and the desk clerk told us it was supposed to snow about 4 inches. Since most of the 3-hour ride back is on highways, I think we will be okay. If all goes well, we should be out of here by 1 pm and in Manhattan between 4 and 5 pm. Once home, I have to finish my BROADWAY FIGHTS AIDS chart and begin the copying tomorrow for Friday's rehearsal. It's long: 220+ bars.

DR Dakotacelt, I am so sorry to hear about the water damage. When I get back, I'll see what celtic vendors I can locate and send you addresses and phone info. Also, check for some of your titles on eBay and abebooks.com - you never know what may turn up!

Thank you all for the travel vibes! See you back in Manhattan!
