Pussy Foot.

This is my word of the day.  I am going to use it in as many consultations as I can.....I have only seen it as a gerund or a verb, I am going to turn it into a noun.

Saturday.  We have a dusting of snow.

You will be happy to learn that while DR JMK bought a house, I have purchased 33 feet of 7/8" Wrights black sequin trim to enhance my disco outfit.  Pictures will be forthcoming at a future date.

I will be spending Sunday afternoon watching Rhoda be drunk and spoil a looping session. I'm looking forward to it.

I will, therefore, miss Jose's trip to Chelsea.

Good morning!

A cold morning but not bitterly so, and so my walk felt good. Another beautiful day, and tomorrow and Monday it'sgoing to get to the 50s. Sadly, then rain and cold return for a bit. Bah! I'm ready for winter to leave us alone.

TOD:

I NEVER had pizza as a child or as a student through college. I think the first pizza I ever had was at a Pizza Hut which I went to on the way to someone's house for a weekend. I hadn't had anything to eat all day, and we (my partner and I) stopped there and split a large pepperoni pizza. We had it quite often after that. Steven was a wonderful cook, but he never once in our partnership made homemade pizza.

As for hamburgers, the first hamburger I can remember ever eating away from home was at McDonalds where they cost  ten cents. It tasted like paper with ketchup on it to me. Really, I couldn't believe how beef could have no flavor at all without condiments.

I'm excited about finishing HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL today and having the evening free. Looking forward to watching one or two fun things. CUJO on Blu-ray is definitely on my list.

DR Jose,

Michelle and Yu-Na skated in different eras (Michelle skated in one world championship during the currently used points system and finished fourth), and the long programs of Michelle's era didn't require this strict standard of point-seeking jump combinations, lengthy footwork sequences, and transitions leading into and out of jumps. So it's almost apples and oranges in watching the content of their programs. As for skating ease and mastery, I don't know. For me Michelle is the gold standard, but I have seen so much more of her than Yu-Na, so my comparisons are probably not fair.

And I've only seen this Olympic gold performance once, so my judgment of her on a single look at her long program is DEFINITELY not fair. I've seen those medal-winning skates of Michelle's dozens of times.

Nothing on TV for me tonight, either with HBO-HD showing FAST AND FURIOUS, the fourth film of the series which I certainly have no interest in watching.

Last night, I watched a film I'd never seen before, MY WILD IRISH ROSE (1947) with Dennis Morgan.

It's the story of singer/songwriter Chauncey Olcott, who wrote the title song and also "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling".

If you're wondering why you can't find this title on DVD or it isn't broadcast very often, it's because the movie is "politically incorrect".  About 25% of the film deals with minstrel shows.

But the songs are good, the story is okay and the color is gorgeous.

Now, if only Dennis Morgan could act....

Here's the trailer:

Good morning, all! I slept very late this morning and I feel fantastic.  I'm taking another easy day today.

DR John G, 100 posts and posting photos! I knew you could do it.

DR Laura, you are such a heartbreaker! Poor Drunk Duane.

I think I'll make the bed and tidy up. I got into one of my paranoid bed bug states yesterday, and there's boric acid all over the floors to kill any suckers crawling around. I was sure I'd poisoned myself last night.

It's Saturday, so I doubt there can be much in the way of fresh hell arriving. I'm thinking I'll watch the 1970s version of EMMA from the BBC today. I've been playing the soundtrack from the latest 4-hour version by Stanley Sim, and the score, written for the most part as a theme and variations for a chamber orchestra, is a total delight.

Well...

Since Maury will be featuring a different Feature Flavor every three hours tomorrow, well...

He's going to repeat a couple of the Flavors from the past month - including one of the ones I missed while I was in Memphis, "Espresso" - but he'll also be premiering a new Flavor in the afternoon.

And as a "Thank You" for my patronage and "commitment" over the past month, Maury is treating me all day. So... Free Breakfast. Free Lunch. Free Afternoon Snack. Free Dinner.  :)

*And a Free T-Shirt too!

**And, no, I will not be having Hot Chocolate all day. But one never knows... Do one? ::)
