Well, you've read the notes, the notes were wild and party-like, and now it is time for you to post until the Academy Award-winning cows come home.

Today, I hope plan to put up some shelves for my DVDs...and finally get some DVDs and CDs out of my garage. :) And then I can start to clean out my garage so that I can park my car there.  I've got a lot of stuff in there that I can get rid of.  I just need to do it.  But the garage will have to wait.  Tonight's the Oscars!!

I have to say I found this week's episode difficult to watch on many levels.  It's often disturbing to watch people who portray rapists or pedophiles. But for it to be lee's brother. And for the actor to be so good at his part.  And then the ending was almost show changing.  But having one of the show's main characters/moral compasses do something illegal.  The way they did the end was interesting. I"m sure a lot of people were like "did he just do what i think he did?"  I think that part was interesting. Because it's thought provoking. I will be curious if they bring this up again.  It seems like most medium episodes are self-contained. And they don't necessarily bring up cases from past shows. So i will be curious to see what they do here.  one    the one   tow two one to wooeo oi i oui oui oui oiu

I probably won't get to post much today.  I am going out and then to babysit. And then TAR and the Oscars. And when they are over it will most likely be around midnight.  I wonder if Steve martin and Alec baldwin will be funny?  I also wonder if they will be doing most of their schtick together.

I am also anxious to see what everybody is wearing. Although I'm guessing i won't get to see much of it.  Although I noticed one station that seems to have some sort of red carpet coverage for 2 hours. So maybe ...

I shall have to await the Oscar choices of others, since I did not see many of the films this year....nor did I want to.

But to start the ball rolling on this Oscar Day:  let's have Movie Title/Slogan change up day.

Change a letter or word in a movie/title or slogan to create your own film.

Good morning, all! I wanted to sleep late but my mind kept telling my body, drag yourself outa that bed and do the laundry. And so I have.

Last night I saw YANK!, which is a wonderful new musical about gay men and women in WW2. I think a lot of the background may be based on a book or documentary called COMING OUT UNDER FIRE, but David Zellnik has written a very tight libretto and lyrics about an 18 year-old soldier who grows up during the war, falls in love, keeps a journal which leads to disaster, and has a strong influence on an 18 year-old boy 60 years later.  Some of his scenes are really wonderful. The music and orchestrations for the 5-piece ensemble are by his brother Joseph. I like the score and I think he gets a lot of sound from the five players.

I think the show is in much better shape than it was when I saw it at the Gallery Players in Brooklyn two years ago, but it stll retains the three wnderful leads: Jeffrey Denman, who also choreographs, Nancy Anderson, playing every woman in the show, and Bobby Steggert, who's perfection as the young soldier and a young man 60 years later. The rest of the cast is equally wonderful, with good direction by Igor Goldin. I wish it much success.

At the York, I got to visit with my friend Jim Morgan, the director of the company, who introduced me to one of the show's producers, to Marc Kudisch who was seeing the show, and to the musical director John Baxindine. I saw my friend Bridie, who's on tour with GREASE at the moment; she and her date were there to support a friend in the cast. My friend Chris, whose health problems seem to be over and I thank the HHW Vibes for a lot of his improvement, bought a YANK! T-shirt. Then we went to the Brooklyn Diner: he had Chilean sea bass and I had the lasagna; it was either that or the mac & cheese for a pasta craving.

Today, I'm copyng out a cello part for a rehearsal tomorrow, a bass part for one of Kevin Spirtas' numbers for this Bocca Raton gig, and having lunch with my friend Joseph Rubin.  And laundry.

I may be mostly E&T tonight; I've lost all faith in the Oscars, I've seen next to none of the nominations, and I wll probably avoid the broadcast. I hope everyone watching has a fantastic time.

I totally agree with Jennifer as to who I think WILL win:

Best Picture - THE HURT LOCKER
Best Actress - Sandra Bullock
Best Actor - Jeff Bridges
Best Supporting Actress - Monique
Best Supporting Actor-Chris Waltz
Best Animated Feature - Up
Best Director- Kathryn Bigelow

However, I'd really LIKE to see INGLORIOUS BASTERDS take Best Picture, Tarantino get Director and Christopher Plummer snag the Supporting Actor award.

But, I'll be satisfied if it goes as Jennifer and I predicted.

Actually, anything just as long as AVATAR doesn't win Best Picture.

I second both DRs Jennifer and Druxy with these predictions. I would be really surprised if it goes any other way, though I have to say in my heart of hearts, I'd love to see Meryl Streep win her third Oscar. That would make the night for me.

Good morning!

A brisk, cold morning, so I had an enjoyable walk. I slept like the dead, so I felt like I was partly asleep through the first third of the walk. Gorgeous day here with temps in the 60s.

I'll probably watch last night's CASTLE rerun while I eat lunch today. At some point today, I'll get to THE OFFICE from Thursday night.

I don't think there is anything else on the DVR.

T.O.D.

I don't believe there will be any surprises in the Acting Categories:

BEST ACTOR:  Jeff Bridges
BEST ACTRESS:  Sandra Bullock
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Christoph Waltz
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Mo'Nique

I would like to see one or two surprises, but I am not holding my breath.
