And with that, I'm going to finish up some work upstairs and then head downstairs to watch something and then start preparing lunch.

Off to the Post Office, Toyland, and then to Rodgers & Hammerstein!

At least the laundry is finished and the apartment tidied. As to the perplexing problem, I'm still perplexed!

Zachary did a Law & Order - but I haven't heard from his mother when it will air....it may already have been on the television machine.

Mr Holmes' blurb was most excellent.

I also enjoyed the photos of DR GEORGE's new shelves.  Very nice.  They are certainly more level than they would have been had I installed them.

I simply could not stay up late enough to watch Cheyenne on L&O.  I did however begin the US theatrical cut of RED CLIFF.  I'm going to assume the international cut is vastly superior, as many have stated here, because while I found the US cut visually unbelievably spectacular, the drama was turgid and the performances largely laughable (at least for the first half hour).

Like Druxy, if there are cheeseball 80's pictures that I saw they have drifted off into the ethers of my memory.  I doubt there were cheeseball ones I actually liked.

Greetings from Toyland! I have not made my way to the Post Office yet. The bank detour was right on the way to Toyland, so I'll hiut the PO on my way back uptown after 3:30.

Tuesday morning afternoon greetings!   I started to get up at 7:30 today, had a headache, and went back to sleep until 10am - very late for me.  Obviously, I didn't have to report for jury duty today, so have only 3 more bullets to dodge!

I saw all three on a triple feature at the Lithia Drive-in with my buddies Steve and Marci back in 1983, I think it was.

I'm up, I'm up.  You know, I was up briefly in the middle of the night and I thought something was going on, a little tremor but it was so light I just said "Nah" and went back to sleep.

Sorry "Running Man" wasn't as good as I remembered it being. I saw it back when it came out and I was under 20 at the time. So, I guess I was like some of those posting comments on imdb.

Anyway, others from the era:  "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" for how cheesy it was, and a couple of the lesser John Hughes films for the same reason, like "Hiding Out." The most hilariously awful movie from that period that I remember, and not too fondly either, was "Monseigneur" with Christopher Reeve and Genevieve Bujold.

But a piece of cheese that I thoroughly enjoyed back then was "Night of the Comet." Wonder if I'd still like it now?

I think it's time to fill out a 2010 census form and get the US government off my back.

Well, since the form asks questions about the status on 1 April 2010, I shall wait 'till said date unless the government chooses to provide me a crystal ball.

I was irked that the Census questions of 1980, 1990, and 2000 were too invasive so I refused to participate - I even tore the follow up forms in shreds and mailed them back. A little clever door-bell dodging kept me one step ahead!

I disbelieve the governments claim not to share data between agencies; the Census Bureau tried to get me to fill out a job-specific survey that could only have reached me from data on my Tax Return.

What is it with these "perfect people" in Utah?

Utah GOP Leader Resigns After $150G Nude Hot-Tubbing Payoff

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's House majority leader resigned from the Legislature Saturday, two days after his confession about sitting nude in a hot tub with a teenage girl 25 years ago stunned this conservative state.
Republican Rep. Kevin Garn, in an e-mail message to House Speaker David Clark, apologized for becoming a distraction.

Garn said he paid the woman, Cheryl Maher, $150,000 to keep quiet about the episode when he unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2002.
But the now 40-year-old Maher began calling local news media last week to tell them about being naked with Garn when she was 15. Garn is more than 14 years older than Maher, who now lives in Derry, N.H.

Note to Ms Maher - taking $150,000 in hush money means you keep your mouth shut! Didn't you learn about "values" in Utah?

Yep there is lots on tv tonight.  Since here LOST and AMERICAN IDOL are on the same channel, I will probably watch LOST at 7pm.  Also a new episode of THE GOOD WIFE (which is definitely one of my favorite shows).

I'm still undecided on PARENTHOOD. I love Lauren Graham and i really like Peter Krause. And they are both on a lot. I'm just not sure if the show is exactly my cup of tea.

I saw this in the paper a few days ago.  I'm assuming Kevin is Jake's son or Grandson.  Jake was a very nice, cool guy, an officer who servied under my father's command.  Jake and my father were responsible for Ft. Douglas not being torn down in the 1970's, which would have been a real tragedy.
