Good season of MAD MEN, although there was much grumbling from some quarters about the emphasis on Don & Betty's home life.

I thought it was a brilliant, riveting season.

[spoiler]

Don's affair with the school teacher left me totally cold, but I always have problems with that kind of plotline. Hits very close to home

Back from the dentist's office, where I survived without needing a transfusion.

I have precooked the chicken for the enchiladas I'm making for dinner and have toasted the pecans for the brownies I'm about to bake.

MMMM.... :)  Betsy insists nuts ruin chocolate, I insist quite the opposite.  :)

So put nuts in the frosting on your share of the brownies

No frosting on my brownies.  Who frosts theirs?

When I make them for myself, I don't frost them. I have been asked quite a few times since people seem to like my brownies to be SURE to frost them. I guess they like the frosting, too.

I spent a lot of time this evening just channel surfing. I'd look at 10 minutes of a movie and then flip to another channel. I couldn't really settle on anything. With all of those channels, nothing really tickled my fancy.

Finally I decided I needed to watch SOMETHING concrete, so I pulled up DAMAGES from the DVR and settled in with another outstanding episode. I've really gotten into the show this season even more so than the first season. I thought season two, which was very good, was the weakest of the three seasons. I honestly think this season is the best.

Then I settled in for LOST.

I don't think it's much of a spoiler to state it's an episode devoted to Richard Alpert whose backstory was most interesting indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed his story though I wasn't quite as blown away by it as I was expecting to be. Still, there were certainly some revelations forthcoming this week.

I guess I'm going to have tomorrow off. Nothing else arrived today, and I'm really not expecting anything quite yet, so looks like tomorrow may be mine all mine.

If it is, I won't putter around channel surfing as I did tonight. I'll pick some movies to watch during the afternoon and early evening.

Da Jew Run Run

Met him on a baseball field right near the shul
Da Jew run run run, da Jew run run
Somebody told me that his name was Shmul
Da Jew run run run, da Jew run run

Yeah, the corner shul
Yeah, his name was Shmul
And on a walk to home
Da Jew run run run, da Jew run run

No one has mentioned chocolate chips in the brownies.

Another great SOUTHLAND episode tonight...with a slight cast change, which was alright by me.

I do wish the show was close-captioned, however. I had one hella time understanding John and Ben's conversation during the ride back to LA. I had to watch it over and over again to get some of it, and still could not get the last bit that Ben said.

Regina King deserves an Emmy nod for her work in this show! She has become one of my favorite modern day actresses.

Chocolate with nuts is good by me!

Chocolate chips in brownies = heaven.

Frosting on brownies is ok as well, as long as it is good frosting. That is how my sis makes hers.

Frankly, I will eat brownies any way they come!

Back from Grant's and then dinner.  We finished everything - all fixes in and fine, and all photos now in and fine.  Just as we were wrapping up I found one more person's name I'd misspelled, so we did a global and fixed all the instances of it.  I just glanced through the new pdf and it looks swell and seems like we might finally have put this puppy to bed.  I'll go through it again tomorrow - not really reading, but just double checking all the pages we did fixes on to make sure nothing else moved around - although having just done that, everything looked correct.  The photo section (16 pages) is really fun and laid out wonderfully by Grant.  The page count with all of it is 416 pages.   And Grant's solution to the Vilanch quote was perfect.  We simply deleted the end of it - the thing about my producing his cast album.  That part really had nothing to do with anything and now the quote ends with his nice comments about the book - on a positive and non-jokey note.  It works perfectly.
