Well, you've read the notes, the notes had going and doing, and now it is time for you to post until the going and doing cows come home.

As I was saying...

I just came back from a walk along the Schuylkill River Trail.  I wish I had my camera...

And just how does one pronounce, "Schuylkill"?

Yesterday (actually, just a few minutes ago), Jose wrote:

Well, the checkbook cover has a place for your driver's license so that you don't have to get out your wallet AND your checkbook when you write a check.  Just flip the cover and you can even show it as you're writing the check, if necessary.

No, BK, JulieC40 was an acquaintance of DR JMK, as I recall, who did not stay long.

Good morning, all! I have a few errands this morning, then a trek to Toyland and a lunch with my friend Josh Rubin, who's doing the 1902 WIZARD OF OZ this summer.

Last night, I finally turned on the AC; even with the windows open and a fan blowing full blast, I was not sleeping because of the heat. I've also put away all my autumn and winter wear, but I hear the temperature will be dropping. I hope so.

More to follow.

RE: THE NATURAL

I've always like this film, and the over-the-top moments don't really bother me.

I've never read the book, but it's my understanding that the ending is completely different from the movie.  A real downer.

It's generally pronounced "Skoo - kull" but the correct Dutch pronunciation is "Skowl - kill"

I've always liked THE NATURAL, too.  Yes, it does have some repetitious over-the-top moments, but it does them well and I don't mind them.  I think it was also the last soundtrack recording I bought on vinyl.

JRand, I thought perhaps it was some theater tradition to line up cans of green beans to be the audience for a rehearsal.  For good luck, perhaps. Although I don't know why a green-bean audience would be good luck.

Friday morning greetings!  My lunch meeting about the Middfest Books of Botswana project has been postponed to Monday, so now I have a free afternoon that I didn't expect.  Still need to go to the library and maybe I'll do a little shopping, too.

Vibes for DR George to find his driver's licence and check book. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you don't find your check book this morning will you have to call your bank to make sure that nobody writes any checks (should someone find it).
