Dixie Carter was a wonderful actress in a brilliant ensemble in one of the best TV comedy's ever aired.  I don't believe the show ever got an Emmy nomination for best comedy, but I could be mistaken.

It was nominated in 89, 90, & 91. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090418/awards
Delta Burke received 2 nominations.  Dixie Carter was never nominated.

Thanks, Jane, for this refresher.

I guess if you post something here you have to realize that the person involved could read it. Although not very nice to have someone else forward your comments!

But great that they will be able to fix the errors.  So unless he was very mad it may have all turned out for the best.

I am going to attempt to go out on my bike. Not sure if it will be painful. Although it is quite windy, which i hate. Sometimes if it is windy i cut through the park to try to make it more bearable.

True, she was never nominated for this show. She was nominated for a guest role on DSPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

Very eloquent remembrance of the show DESIGNING WOMEN, DR Ron. Thanks for taking the effort to write that.

Since I had no shows on the DVR ready to watch while I ate lunch, I went ahead and put in disc two from the BONES season two set (take a bow, DR Elmore, for talking up this wonderful show). I rewatched the episode that featured the death of a girl (and others) tied to a Colombian family with diplomatic immunity. Great cast interactions on this episode.

Then I spent the rest of my afternoon with RIDE WITH THE DEVIL. It's a very good film dealing the the Missouri-Kansas skermishes during the Civil War. A cast of simply brilliant young actors in these roles: Toby Maguire, Skeet Ulrich, Simon Baker, Jonathan Rhys Myers, Jeffrey Wright, Mark Ruffalo, Jim Caviezel. And there are some veterans in the cast like Tom Wilkinson and Margo Martindale, too, but the young guys (and Jewel as the love interest) are the real focuses of the attention.

I don't ever remember a Civil War film dealing with this aspect of the war: the Bushwhackers versus the Jayhawkers, but it certainly held my attention for 2 1/2 hours. This is the director's cut; all of the footage Lee cut for the theatrical release was put back in which is why it runs longer than the original release version.

I sampled about 15 minutes of each of the two commentaries. The director and screenwriter share one commentary; the cinematographer, the production designer, and the sound designer share the other. Both are interesting since they focus on different aspects of the production.

Still chilly out.  We're finishing addressing (just another ten minutes or so) and then we'll do postage and then grab something to eat.  Tonight's dinner has been canceled, which is actually for the better.

I guess I'll hop off-line now and get some writing done. Then, it's downstairs to clean my bathroom, put away the folded laundry, and then return to viewing for the evening.

My sentiments.  At least it turned out best for the book.

Well, hopefully several people will look over the manuscript and see if all the errors can be caught.

Troublemakers, whomever they are, should really learn to get a life and stop lurking here.  But I suppose it gives them great joy to do their thing, so in that way we provide a service for these dunderheads.  And, should this particular troublemaker be reading the board today - you can kiss my ASS.

I also watched RIDE WITH THE DEVIL this afternoon and I did enjoy it.

However, I don't think that they needed to reinstate the 14 minutes that was cut from the theatrical release.

In its current version, it is a bit long.

Was dinner cancelled because of your comments about the book?
