When the boys were around 7 & 10 siblings of the same age spent the night while their parents celebrated their anniversary.  The parents told me it was their 11th while the older boy told me it was their 9th.  I, in a very friendly way, let the mother know.  I still don't know who told me the truth.

maybe the snake was dead

No. When she threw the pebbles, it suddenly jerked its head up and looked at us. She said it was cold -- it turned out to be a cloudy day that was not the usual warm April weather.

Same here.

We saw two rattlesnakes and one that was not a rattlesnake. I don't know what it was; it was too fast.

Thanks for all the wishes.  I shall pass them on to DW Wife Betsy.

And it is DW Wife Betsy, as anyone who's in the know knows.  ;)

But isn't your oldest boy seventeen?

And your point is?   >:( ;)

(Gabe is 13).

Sounds like a lovely day, Ginny

It sure does :-)  I look forward to Dakota's photos.

DRs Cillaliz & Jane - it was a very nice day.  I thanked DR DakotaCelt for the opportunity to refresh my Cincinnati tour guide skills.  The Playhouse in the Park needs to trim the shrubbery so that I can show off the great view from their parking lot.

Pogue and I went to something called the Cracker Barrel for lunch.  It was GREAT.  I took it easy there - had a great chicken salad sandwich and cole slaw.  So, not too heavy.  Will take it easy at the deli, too.

You went to a Cracker Barrel?!?!?  Well... I would have gone to a Perkins if I had the choice. ;)

Well, I'm off.  Tonight, Theater Artists Olympia (TAO...pronounced "dow") will be putting on a fundraiser called En-TAO-Ment!  Two numbers from The Brain will be performed (not ones that I'm in, though) and much more.  It should be a swell (and loud) event! ;D

Until later!

DR Matt H, I never saw Madonna's Vogue.  I think Emma turned him down after his encounter, she only said she wasn't ready for sex.  In all fairness, he did stop before it went too far.  He is such an idiot though since he went there worried Rachael was being taken advantage of & then gets caught in the trap.  I thought he had fallen in love with Emma, he could give her just a little bit of time since she is only scared, not unwilling.

She's also germaphobic, something that might cause a bit of a problem when it comes to intimacy.

That could.  I think that can be overcome.

I'm sure it can - in time. And you've got a healthy, vital man expected to patiently wait? Nope, not in this lifetime.

When I went down, I finished watching ON CUKOR. Reminded me that it's been ages since I saw the wretched remake of THE BLUE BIRD he filmed in Russia with a starry cast but a hapless production team. It was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but I'd like to see it again one day, just for curiosity's sake.

Since I was in a Judy Holliday mood, I took one of my favorites with her off the shelf: THE SOLID GOLD CADILLAC. I've always loved the film, and I love it still, despite this DVD which is filled with speckles and dirt. Still as entertaining as can be.

After that I took one of my new/old Joan Crawford movies recently acquired from the Warner Archive - THIS MODERN AGE. A silly story (Joan finds out her mother's a kept woman and is shamed into breaking her engagement to a well-to-do Massachusetts aristocrat), and Joan looks weird as a blonde. That faux/snooty accent always sounds so phony during this period of her career. Neil Hamilton as her love interest was very good.

In honor of the Indiana HHW viewing of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X I decided to watch some sci-fi tonight....THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD and THE TIME MACHINE.

Believe it or don't, I have never seen either movie.

I just finished THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, and my feeling is that it is way overrated. The style of having the actors talking over one another, I guess to make it seem realistic, is just annoying to me and therefore I just wanted the monster to eat up all of the actors.

I did enjoy seeing George Fenneman as one of the guys stationed up there in the arctic, and I must admit that I would certainly not have minded being stranded there with him.  8)

I am now about 10 minutes into THE TIME MACHINE. So far nothing has happened, but at least Rod Taylor is on the screen the whole time.

Back from a very wild and wooly time with Jrand, Evil Kurt, seeing the show, and then going out with the cast and crew after.  Must now write the notes and tell all about it.

Yes it was wooly and wild and wild and wooly.

I have the photos to prove it, but will not be able to post them until after work tomorrow.....you will just have to wait.

I was wonderful meeting MR BK in the flesh, so to speak.....and also it was wonderful to meet DR CP - two nicer gentlemen it would be hard to find.

Of course once we got to the entertainment establishment after BRAINEX - both MR BK and DR CP were completely engulfed in lovely young ladies - now and I then I would see them, but mostly they were surrounded - sort of like Custer and the Indians.

I do not think there were any complaints.

Be that as it may.....I shall let MR BK tell the tale.....and come back in the morning - before work.  Oh well.
