I actually got up around seven-thirty because I thought someone was knocking at the door - must have been dreaming it.

DR elmore, I'm pretty sure the dog above you barks because he/she is left alone too long.

I'm thinking about food.  Have to be a good boy for the next few days, food-wise, but want something fun.

I just got back from lunch. We went to the Thai place and I had some very delicious shrimp pad thai and spring rolls.

Had a sandwich and no fries.  That's it for today, save for maybe a little salad later.

I'm here in sunny California!  It's cooler than I expected, but I like it.  I think the temperature back in the DC area was supposed to reach 90 today, so high 60's, low 70's are great as far as I'm concerned.

I'm waiting to check in to my hotel, which is very close to the Hollywood/Highland complex.

DR George--I'm glad the show went so well last night!  I would have loved to have seen it!

TOD:

I've told this story before, but the most exotic food I've ever eaten was turtle. The P.E. teacher at school brought a batch of it to school one day, and many of us who shared the same lunch period partook of it. It was tasty, but it was the only time I've ever had it.

Tonight is a NASCAR night on FOX....so No COPS.

On the other hand, CBS is reunning two of my favorites: NCIS and THE MENTALIST tonight as well as ABC's CASTLE rerun, so I have three shows I'll be able to watch tomorrow.

I had no idea it was that hot in DC.  Enjoy your trip & cool weather, which I consider warm.

When I went down, I watched SUPERNATURAL which was only OK. No Castiel this week, so the episodes are nevr as good as when he takes part in them.

Yesterday since the Fox Movie Channel was showing CAN-CAN, they aired a two part interview with Shirley MacLaine so I recorded those and watched them while I ate lunch. She talked about the infamous visit by Nikita Kruschev and his wife, the special lunch prepared at the Fox commisary for 400 of Hollywood's elite (I hadn't heard about this), and, of course, the famous story of the two Russians being taken to the soundstage where CAN-CAN was filming where the dance was done for them. (And which they found immoral.)

Shirley said her dress weighed 75 pounds, and unlike during filming, they danced the whole number from beginning to end and she thought she was going to have a heart attack before it was over. She also talked about some of her other famous films, but, naturally, it was a very surface interview that didn't delve into any of the films very much

I also recorded an interview with one of the creators/producers/writers for GLEE which was about 20 minutes long and watched that. They only showed clips from the pilot, so I'm thinking the interview was done sometimes early last fall before the show had run very long.

I also had time this afternoon to watch Thursday night's THE OFFICE. Not one of the better episodes there either, Micahel being his own worst enemy when it comes to wooing a woman. Funnier were Dwight's endeavors to get the right person enrolled into the minority management program. That had some funny lines and characters.

Going to have a drink with my neighbor shortly - it won't take too long, and then I'll dive into Return Of The King.

I'm heading down now to start on today's work project: JAPANESE SUMMER: DOUBLE SUICIDE. It's 99 minutes long, so I should have some time after it's over to watch something fun. At this point, I don't know what that will be yet.

The fundraiser today was very nice and I hope they made a lot of money.  Saw many longtime friends and met some new people.  After I got home, Richard and I went to another library and did some more errands.  Now we're waiting for Rob to pick up pizza for our family movie night.
