MR BK I just finished watching King of Kings again.  I like that movie a lot.  Really good casting.

A couple of things bother me (of course) Viveca Lindfors hair that includes a beehive and a shoulder length curl....and Betty Utey's choreography for salome's danssssssssssssssssss.  Now of course it could be that Briget Bazlan couldn't dance at all, and it is edited in a choppy way, but seems more Egyptian than Roman to me.

ANYWAY....MR BK did you see the movie at the Egyptian Theatre and did it look the way it does in the newsreels on the DVD?  That is a great use of neon.  Was that special for King of Kings or did the Egyptian always have it?

It was nice to see Carroll Baker and Jack Garfein at the New York premiere.  And Brigid is mentioned as the daughter of a columnist Madge somebody.  Interesting.

This boy is listening to the other one! Probably my last listen (it is my first). No matter how much I like Mr Jackman, I can not warm to the material. The OZ production of the show was little more than a cabaret act and does not seem to have improved. The use of the songs seems to be at odds with the biography. I have trouble accepting the songs in a story line.

Oh, I am sure you would enjoy the show if Mr. Spacey was playing the lead.

Yes, I saw King of Kings at the Egyptian - four times.  That's the way the theater looks.  In Kritzerland, when Benjamin and his friend Paul are shooting their 16mm movies in Hollywood, that's what was playing when the real movies were being shot.

Help, Hollywood HHW Scribes - does this bode well or ill:

Writer Scott B. Smith will pen the remake of ED CID for producer Arthur Sarkissian with Martin Campbell directing.

And does anyone know anything about this version of the movie?

Tomorrow's topic - almost. I am listening to The Peter Sellers collection. What a brilliant talent - so many voices. I have not heard his recording of "Auntie Rotter" for over 40 years!

Happy birthday, Sandra!

Happy belated birthday to Keith!

Jrand, I love the page dance and the cheerleader pics. :)

Disney songs:
"Something There"--B&tB
"Why Should I Worry?"--Oliver and Company
"Part of Your World" and its reprise--The Little Mermaid
"Someday My Prince Will Come"--Snow White...
"You'll Be in My Heart"--Tarzan
"Once Upon a Dream"--Sleeping Beauty (which I love!)
"You've Got a Friend in Me"--Toy Story

*brief story* I used to have the Ariel costume from the Disney Store, and I would reenact the "Part of Your World" reprise using our loveseat as the rock Ariel pushes herself up on. My fave lines on that song will always be "I don't know when. I don't know how, but I know something's starting right now. Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be part of your world!" Those lines that captured Ariel's resolve to achieve her goals and the cool rock thrust thing will forever be ingrained in my mind. The end!

Hello, darlings. I've had a VERY long day. Haven't been near the computer since my last post. Just got home a little while ago from Westwood or West Hollywood - somewhere far. My place looks like a hurricane hit, but am too tired to clean up. Not sleepy, but very tired. There's a cat meowing outside the window. Too tired to pick Disney songs. All my faves have been named by others, anyway.
That's all the news from here. Have I mentioned there's a cat meowing outside the window, sweeties?

For those reading at midnight, I think you'll find the quiz very interesting, and you must post about it without giving anything away.
