I have a new doctor. Dr Munshi is HIP history, and my new caregiver is Alisha Miller. I liked her. My test results were good, so I'm happy.

That's the thing I remember the most.

I got my DVD of THE GREAT RACE in the mail today....and I think I will watch it this afternoon.

It's interesting in the song clip - whenever Dorothy Provine is brushing Natalie with her boa....Provine's face is never seen in the shot....only an arm that could have been a double....maybe Miss Wood objected to Dorothy's method acting in boa-face-brushing.

Tomorrow, of course, is an election day and there are some pretty hotly-contested local offices and issues on the ballot.  We are getting lots of robo-calls and I feel guilty because I just hung up on John Glenn.

Our community will be voting on both a school levy and a library levy - vibes, please!

A certain Broadway revival has been nominated for eight Drama Desk Awards:

Outstanding Revival of a Musical:
Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Actor in a Musical:
Cheyenne Jackson, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Actress in a Musical:
Kate Baldwin, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical:
Christopher Fitzgerald, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical:
Terri White, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Director of a Musical:
Warren Carlyle, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Choreography:
Warren Carlyle, Finian's Rainbow

Outstanding Sound Design in a Musical:
Scott Lehrer, Finian's Rainbow

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that people remember Finian's for the Tonys. Shows that have closed seem to be forgotten quickly and some are talking up La Cage as the winner for best revival. While it's not the mess I thought it might be (and believe it or not, I actually thought KG did a good job), Finian's was so much better and so much more deserving of the Tony. But that's not the way the awards work anymore.

Finian's Rainbow probably won't even get to perform on the Tony Awards® because it's closed. :P

When I got in from lunch, it was late, so I immediately started WALKABOUT. It looks nice in Blu-ray, but the film never had a solid picture, and the Blu-ray replicates the way it's always looked with mixtures of awesome nature close-ups with some really soft or out of focus photography.

The sound, PCM at 1.1 Mbps, is really impresive though. Some of that John Barry music sounds so lush you'd almost swear it was remixed for surround.

Being closed hasn't stopped shows in the past from being represented on the Tonys. It might just be Cheyenne and kate singing "Old Devil Moon," but I'd be shocked if it's nominated that there won't be some kind of song or clip.

And I certainly DO think it will be nominated.

I skimmed through the bonus features after I finished the main feature. They're all in HD. Luc's interview and the trailer are in 1080p. The other two featurettes are in 1080i.

Then I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest, but everyone was in the previews for tomorrow.

Then I picked back up with NCIS that I had started before heading out to lunch. I only had time for ten more minutes of it, but that got me halfway through the episode. I'll finish it when I go back down, along with watching the CASTLE rerun from Saturday and THE TUDORS from last night.

Being closed hasn't always stopped shows from being performed, but there have been times where it did...especially, more recently.  But I really do hope that it gets to perform something.

One way or another, I'm sure we will get to hear Kristin Chenoweth warble something from the PROMISES, PROMISES revival.  In fact, I'm willing to bet that she somehow gets a nomination (despite being basically ignored by all the other awards thus far.)

Glad to hear that VIXMOM now has her own laptop. Perhaps these keys will cooperate a bit better.

Well, she'll have fewer contenders against her for Tony slots. The Outer Circle and Drama Desk combines nominees from Broadway and Off-Broadway. Without the Off-Broadway candidates, she could sneak in.

Now I must hop off-line and do some writing. Then, I'll head back downstairs and prepare for an evening of fun viewing.

I spent the morning at the dentist, once again increasing my resin-to-real-tooth ratio. And supplementing my dentist's retirement/children's college fund.

I now have season 1 of BONES, thanks to those DRs who speak so highly of it. Netflix is also sending THE LOVELY BONES, so I shall be well represented anatomically.

Have some things to take care of, then will attempt a nap, as I didn't fall asleep until 3 am. I don't do well on so little sleep. (I don't seem to sleep well before dental visits. Do you think there's a connection??)

Last week on Regis & Kelly's "Broadway Week," for Promises, Promises, she sang "Say a Little Prayer for Me."
