I'm up, I've shaved, I will shortly shower, and then I shall wait for Mr. Wechter to arrive.

Is this Kississemme in the Catskills? I only ask because that's the setting for most of the delightful musical TWO WEEKS WITH LOVE.

Once on the old Steve Allen syndicated show.....so many years ago, Miss Karen Valentine was a guest.  She was most interesting.  She told Steve that her family was not encouraging when she decided to go into show business.

She began as a contestant in the Miss Teen USA pageant, i think, and was Miss California....or at least Miss Whatever her home town was.  Her talent was doing a hula dance to some rock and roll song.  The producers of the Ed Sullivan Show saw her on the pageant, and even though she didn't win, asked her to do her hula dance on the show.

She said yes......and laughed.....and then Steve surprised her by showing the clip!!!

Friday morning greetings!  I'm getting ready to go in for this week's blood test and then on to Dayton for high tea with a former co-worker.

Really enjoying it.  Will finish today.

Where did you get THE CAPTIVE CITY from?

Wouldn't mind having a copy of that one.

Book arrived at my home yesterday--it will be next on my commute-reading list.

But why is the guy who is sitting behind BK on the book cover missing a leg?

MEdia Check:

iPod:  Not the Missing Tunes CD--I forgot it this morning!  Otherwise, Suzanne Vega's latest recording (which is pretty much just a reworking of her early stuff...)

Tivo:  Um, nothing of note...

DVD:  ...nothing new there, either...

Druxy, Captive City was on MGM-HD.  I don't think it's ever been out on DVD.

I haven't been buying many new DVDs or CDs of late, mostly because I still don't know what the policy is regarding having packages delivered here at my new place of work.  And everytime I see something in a store, I look at the price and I think. "Well, I can get this cheaper on Amazon."  I haven't really seen much of anything that I want to but immediately.  I still haven't bought the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC revival recording or the OCR for AMERICAN IDIOT.

I'm also hesitant about the EVENING PRIMROSE DVD that, having been delayed from a May release to late June, was actually released last week with a price increase to $28.00.  The page on Amazon shows no image of the DVD package and even though it's being touted as remastered, I'm leery of it turning out to be  a shoddy product.

Good morning!

It's a pleasantly cool morning, and we're going to have three succeeding days of cool down as well, so I'm happy about that. I don't walk on Fridays, but it would have been a nice morning for a walk. Should be much cooler tomorrow morning and Sunday.

I'll start work today on the second season of FLASHPOINT. inspecting the package this morning, I was surprised to find there are only nine (9) episodes in this second season set! I doubt I will get all nine done today, but I'll get a good many done, and I'm looking forward to them because this is a show that mixes action with pathos about as well as any I have ever seen. And I adore the lead actors Enrico Colantoni and Hugh Dillon.
