DR TCB re: the Sex & The City 2 movie gettting a bomb rating.

I can only speak for myself. And it makes me feel bad/sad/mad when a movie i'm looking forward to seeing gets a bomb rating.  But it makes me even more upset when they let someone review it who knows they will hate it before even going in. It just makes me wonder why bother making that person sit through it. And why make me read it.

That's a very good choice! I was thinking of using "fancy" and admitting in the recording notes and on the new copy that the word was conjectural, but I think your lyric choice is better. Thank you.

Friday morning greetings!  It's still very muggy here in SW Ohio and we're expecting storms throughout the day.

DR JMK takes the cake! I will be acknowledge him in the notes to the new recording. He will be in good company, with excellent scholars and copyists.

TOD:

DVD:

CHARLIE CHAN IN PANAMA (1940) (I have decided that I don't much care for Sidney Toler as Charlie Chan...much prefer Warner Oland)

An old Phil Regan musical HAPPY GO LUCKY (1936). I have decided that not only is Phil Regan a wonderful singer, but what a looker!

DVR:
I have a number of HIGHWAY DRAGNET and SEA HUNT episodes to catch up with, the best of which I will save onto dvd-r.

CD:
THE GOLDEN AGE OF LIGHT MUSIC: The 1950s Vol. 5 - SUNNY SIDE UP ( I think several HHWers would enjoy this CD series)

Our family had some bad news yesterday. My nephew Daniel (my younger brother Dan's son) was diagnosed with lymphoma. He had been suffereing from extreme stomach pain and they found he had a blockage in his intestines, which the doctors removed last week. Test revealed cancer.

He is only 25 years old and has two young children. Just so sad, and he is such a good kid.

So, any spare good thoughts, prayers, or vibes would be most welcomed as he begins chemotherapy.

Here is a letter to the editor that appears in today's local newspaper:

'Very Disappointed'

Now, Gardner-Harvey Library is where I spent the first 12 years of my librarian career, the second 6 as director.  I'm wondering why, over the last 25 (count 'em, 25) years, the 3 subsequent directors have let the building deteriorate to such an extent?

bK, I finished your book the other day. What a wonderful reading experience it was, and I mean that most sincerely.

Not only are you a great story teller (which of course, is something I have known for years), you have had a very intersting life and it was a great joy for me to not only know more about someone that I consider a friend, but to learn about 1970s Hollywood from one who was there

Well, I am starting a 4 day weekend and must decide if I will begin with a trip to Corvallis to try out the Indian restaurant there (for lunch) or get the lawn mowed and the weeds pulled.

Thanks Elmore. Daniel is young and healthy (well, except for the cancer thing) and we have great hope that he will make it through this ok.
