Well, you've read the notes, the notes were consummated by a pro, and now it is time for you to post until the consummate cows come home.

I loved reading about Nancy Dussault and her cabaret act.  Wish I could've been there.

BK, do you ever envision Kritzerland recording more acts, such as Nancy's? (hint, hint ;))

I'd like to second George's hint. And add a "hint, hint" of my own. I've always loved Nancy D's voice and presence.

I have not been fortunate enough to see many cabaret acts, so I'm not the best judge, though I have a number of recordings of acts, including the Callaway sisters, Bobby Short, Nancy Lamott and Jason Graae that I enjoy.

When I lived in Sarasota back in the 1990s, Ann Morrison lived there while raising her son. She did a number of community productions, including directing "Merrily We Roll Along" from the original script. She also did a cabaret act that I happened to see twice, and I loved the intimacy, the way of feeling that the person on stage is singing directly to you. Or at least the person next to me (the paper's theater critic). In addition to one or two songs from "Merrily," she did one song that stays with me after all these years. It was about how we'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

I would love to see more.

I have only been to see two cabaret acts that I can think of  - and they were both many many years ago - I attended both of them with WFO

the first was Karen Akers and one of the things that made it special was that she sang a song tehat WFO had translated for her

and the second performer was named Kathy somebody and now I must contact WFO to ask him what the song was he translated for Karen and what Kathy's last name is....

Lovely to hear about the cabaret last night.....I have not seen too many.....but one I especially enjoyed was local artiste Miss Su Ours in Dorothy Parker a Symptom Recital......which included songs, poems, and readings.

Here are 4 of my favorite people - Miss Su Ours is on the right, then Adam Crowe,  Deb Shaver,  and Tony MacDonald.....I don't know the girl on the left.....theatre people all....and fun to be with.

Good morning, all! I have a lot of work today at Toyland in assembling a presentation for the Master Toymaker and, hopefully, answering some questions on things in THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER. I have my trusty red pencil along with my yellow pads so I'm ready for bsiness.

The last time I saw Nancy Dussault, she and Ron Raines were singing "Too Many Mornings" in a Sondheim benefit concert. She's a nice lady. I think she and Ron did FOLLIES somewhere, maybe Theatre Under the Stars? Did she sing "What's New At the Zoo?"

Last night in response to my mentioning Gary Coleman's ex-wife's 911 audio, DR Laura said:
Quote
I don't think 911 calls should be released to the public. People call 911 when they are under great stress. It should not be used for entertainment purposes.

I guess I can agree with this. And I would not have searched out the call. But something I was watching played it.  I guess i didn't explain my point.  It wasn't that she was frantic or anything like that. Obviously that would be expected. If someone you love had an incident most people would be crazed with worry.

But she wasn't at all. All she kept saying was that she couldn't deal with this right now and the tone she used was so odd. I guess they were divorced but living together (?).  And the way she spoke, to me, it was like so unfeeling. It was just weird.
