Dear BK, I would like it very much if you could plan a cabaret night for early-mid November.

BK had better not plan anything other than coming to Portland mid-November, I tells ya.  ;)

Oh, yeah.

Just off the phone, and something I've been thinking about for the last three months is now going to happen, beginning in two months.  One night a month at the Gardenia will now be a Kritzerland night.  If we catch on, it could go to two nights a month.  My idea was to present great themed evenings with four or five singers doing the honors - starting with a Lost in Boston evening, then an Unsung Musicals evening, then maybe Peter Pan - you know, all based on the albums I've done - themed albums and songwriter albums - all of it.  I'm really excited about this.  It would either be the first Monday, Wednesday or Thursday of each month.  I've been to so many of these "cabaret" things with multiple singers and there's just never any thought to them and they're all sort of casual and thrown together - I think those who know me know I won't be doing that sort of evening.  These will be rehearsed and fun, and I may end up doing a running commentary occasionally for things like Lost in Boston - not sure about that part yet.  Each show would run around seventy-five minutes.
Makes me wish I were closer to New York. Sounds wonderful

My sympathies Danise  - I worked in the aerospace industry in the 1980's . for 18 months we went through Friday morning layoffs - finally after 18 months of laying off 20 - 60 people they had a massive layoff of 1500 - that's when I heard my name called -

I understand the stress of the wait - it was almost  a relief to be finally layed off

BJ, how about a program with either Lost in Boston or Unsung Musicals if you have any of the original cast in your group? I love the recording of "Beyond My Wildest Dreams" from "Merlin" you did of Michelle Nicastro, for example.

Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts for my sister.

One year ago, she was undergoing chemo.

Oh, DR Laura, I wondered if this was the same sister.  Hope things start looking up for her soon!

I was going to ask if this was the same sister but couldn't think of a tactful way to bring it up - I hope all her health problems are behind her - and that she is able to get health care coverage

There absolutely will - we're just waiting to find out, but it seems like it will always be early in the month.

If any of the original singers are here, I will invite them to do their song - BUT - I don't want these to end up being one of these fifteen singer deals, so they'll always have to be willing to do at least three songs, because I never want more than six singers.

That I can understand. Too many people, too many egos, too many logistics. It's cabaret, not a benefit.
