tonight's feature: "Zombieland." Fun so far.

They filmed a lot of that near my house in Marietta and several scenes in my friend Mamie's house. They dropped a piano in teh middle of her street, and the whole neighborhood turned out to watch.

The piano falling scene was the funniest gag in the movie.

BK, since a few others are asking about soundtracks today, how about a release of William Bolcom's score for "Illuminata"? I remember seeing the movie and loving the music from it.

A friend of mine edited that and he was the one who make the connection for us to ask John Turturro to do the voice of Vanzetti for our film. I loved Illuminata, especially since it features Bill Irwin!
I loved the film, too. I read some really weird reviews of it. Guess you have to like the theater. Everyone involved seemed to have been having a blast making it.

Kevin H, if you have a chance to go outside Dublin for a beautiful day in an amazing garden, I highly recommend:

I second the vote on Powerscourt, especially when the flowers might be in bloom. I saw it in February when the water fountains were large icicles, and it was still majestic.

Time for bed....sounds like everyone is very busy...which is good, and that good weather is finally here to stay!  Hurray.

Congrats to MR BK on the Promises interview and the upcoming library book signing.

I am looking forward to receiving my copy of said CD.

DR Vixmom - Reid is 13 or 14 and a great kid.  A couple of other congregations represented at the synod wanted him to defect to them, but Fr. Palmer said they couldn't have him!

Had some good news in terms of the book - I'm doing a signing on August 10 at the Burbank Public Library - my first ever library signing and I'm very excited about it.

Also doing a radio interview on KFWB, I think, in about three weeks.  So, little by little.

This is great news! Congratulations

BK, did these book events come through your PR person.  You should try and get on some NPR show like Fresh Air or something...that would go out nationwide.  Hell, Oprah!  Book of the month!

Ron has evidence been given as to how he could have mistaken his gun for his laser?

It is many hours later, Jane, and someone else may have answered this.  From what I understand, the defense witnesses, and Mehserle himself, all stated there was a lot of confusion.  It was noisy and several different troublemakers were being handled by different groups of officers.  At some point someone said Mehserle had unholstered his stun gun and had it out a couple of times.  I haven't seen any actual testimony to indicate the sequence of events or how Mehserle, himself, recounted what happened and why he thinks it may have happened.

Some co-workers cannot get past the fact that three officers were needed to take down Grant.   Actually, I believe there were three officers per troublemaker.  One person resisting arrest with all his might can be difficult to handle even when two officers are handling him.

Others contend that with Grant face down, there was no need to stun him...and that the shooting had to be racially motivated.

People believe what they want to believe regardless of how incomprehensible it might be.

And is it true that now, on still evenings, the tinkling sound of piano strings being torn apart still haunt the neighborhood?
