DR der Brucer - yes, I am familiar with ABC-CLIO and, in the course of a 30+ year librarian career, recommended the purchase of many of their products.

Thank you - glad I'm not befriending a charlatan :)

I'm having one terrible afternoon; I asked our invoice person for the Herbert-Kern project to check into invoices last week since I figured the office in California would be closed Monday and I had no idea when our invoices would be paid. From his email today, i'm not sure if the invoices have been processed at all now and I'm not only pissed, i'm about to be overdrawn, and I may have on Friday morning no money to get me to La Guardia, much less to Ohio. Or back, for that matter, since we many not see wire transfers before Monday. I'm debating my next action because, if I can find no one to lend me a bit of cash, I cannot take the plane to Ohio. Do I cancel the trip?

What i want to do is kill my colleague. Violently.

It's for the WIZARD OF OZ lecture in Canton, OH.

And to add insult to injury, I've misplaced next week's appointment sheet for the Dental Clinic, which I need to change tomorrow morning. I'm getting stressed.

And now for something completely different, and to cheer up DR Elmore (I hope).  I've been learning to use my scanner today and have created an album of photographs from the production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, for which DR Elmore made me try to learn to sing.  Here's the album on Facebook:

DR Elmore was the director, so he was sitting (or pacing) in the audience.

And so we're going to do a second pressing of CD 2 only on Promises - 1000 units more.  That way, we keep it in print for the next three years (or however long they last) and no one else can license it and at that point I'll have the right to renew again if I want to.  So, we'll announce next week.

DR Cillaliz, re: THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO.

How did you watch it that you didn't have both the English subtitles and the English dubbed version? (since I assume the dvd has both).

I would be curious to watch it both ways.

I downloaded a rental from Amazon on my Roku.  It was the first time I did an Amazon rental so I had a $10 credit and got it free.  It's usually $2.99 to rent.  You download and can watch it for 3 days, but you have to pick how you want to view it and you don't get the specials, just the movie.  You do get it immediately however

;D  Since I'm being pressured ;) to remember it, I do.  There are parts I hope are not shown too great extent in the movie.  I don't remember finishing the book and thinking "gosh that was violent".

That's my plan.   We have two tvs and I wanted to watch on the larger one which is easier to read the subtitles.  Keith said it will be cooler in the bedroom with the air on so we will watch in there.  I'm not telling him there is a dubbed option.  If he sees it I know he will pick it.  Did you have any trouble with the subtitles being too fast?

I think it is interesting how the serial killer in L.A. was caught.  The son was arrested and his DNA was a close match.  The police then collected the DNA off a coffee mug, of his father, used at a restaurant.  It was a match to the killer's DNA.
